When my husband and I made a list of venues to visit, The Talbot was at the top and after our first walk through the courtyard we both knew this was only place we wanted to get married!
Luckily for us it ticked all our other boxes too;- style, location, budget, exclusive use, accommodation for guests, amazing food and incredible staff.
We had such a fantastic wedding day at The Talbot, we wanted to do it all again! The whole day just flew by.
Being a bit of a control freak it was very hard to let go of the reins on the day and trust that everything would run smoothly, but because of the amazing Krystyna and her team, that is exactly what I did!
I didn’t have one stressful moment because she was there every step of the way making sure it all ran like clockwork. Krystyna was wonderful to work with and instilled such faith and confidence throughout the planning. We felt so supported and that our wedding was as important to The Talbot as it was to us. All our guests raved about the venue, staff service and food. A special mention to Nicholas as well. He helped me with my dress as I was walking across the courtyard to the ceremony and was wonderful at calming the wedding party’s nerves before walking down the aisle.
We were blessed with lovely weather, although that made the Wisley Suite Reception room very hot in the evening and windows couldn’t be opened due to noise pollution. I have been told The Talbot are installing air con for next year!
From start to finish it was a magical day at a wonderful venue. Thank you.

We couldn’t believe our luck when we found the talbot, it was everything we wanted for our wedding venue. This was made even better with the communication we had in the lead up to our big day. Krystyna always made time to meet with us and discuss all of our ideas and visions for our wedding, and was invaluable on the day, from setting everything up to walking us through the steps.
We are looking forward to visiting the Talbot in the future and the amazing memories that we now have to look back on. Me and my husband would highly recommend The Talbot, especially if you are looking for an intimate venue with a rustic feel that you can tailor to your vision for your perfect wedding day.

We had the best day for our wedding at The Talbot. The venue is beautiful, Krystyna is amazing and all the staff were very friendly and kind. Cannot thank Krystyna, and the team at The Talbot for helping make our day so incredible and memorable. Anything we wanted or needed was done; including our 2 dogs being part of the ceremony, and our wish to have both the hog roast AND the bbq for our wedding breakfast! I would 100% recommend this place, and wish we could do it all over again!

An Amazing day, at a beautiful venue. Krystyna and the staff were amazing, helping to arrange and organize such a beautiful day that ran smoothly. Krystyna (the wedding planner) meet with us numerous time and replied to my many emails panicking and changing details, and helped to ease the stress of planning a wedding, everything ran like clockwork and the rooms and food were set up perfectly. Our guest all commented on how delicious the meals and canapes were and the venue were really good at dealing with meal variations for our gluten free/vegan and vegetarian guests. I couldn't recommend the venue more!

The venue was everything we could have asked for. We had many friends and family who came from afar, and Ripley village was an ideal setting and location. Throughout the planning stages, the events team were very accommodating, compromising and professional. The menu options had a good range of suitable choices, and we were very happy with the quality of the food on the day. We were advised and met suppliers for the event, following a bridal fair, of whom we decided to choose. Their familiarity of the venue reduced all unnecessary stresses that may arise whilst organising for the big event. Our stay at The Talbot was an overall a wonderful experience, we would recommend to many. It was warm, friendly, with a fulfilling good breakfast, and we left feeling satisfied that our guests and ourselves had a wonderful weekend.

Planning a wedding during a pandemic required a lot of budgeting and compromise. With the Talbot Inn we did the budget without the compromise. This was the first and only venue we looked at and it was just perfect. I loved the barn look as a venue and the Talbot offered this but with a modest and reasonable cost. Being just outside London the location was perfect without the huge London price tag! Besides this, the team at the Talbot were second to none. We started out with Krystyna who we loved but she went on maternity leave and put us in Hanna's capable hands. Although it's a bride prerogative, Hanna had no qualms with answering all of my many (any probably very tedious!) questions. As a natural control freak she made me feel very calm on the lead up to the day. On the day itself we were introduced to various other staff members (most of whoms names I'm afraid I cant remember!) however Amy was one who really resonated for us. She had her foot in a cast at the time but went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect. The morning after the wedding I actually had a bit of breakdown as I had lost a part of a family heirloom (my something old and borrowed) and Amy helped us scour the venue floor until we found it. For this I will never forget the kindness and support she showed me and was the cherry on the top of a perfect venue experience!

The Talbot is stunning, rustic, cosy, packed of history and we knew from the moment we saw it it was special. And the whole team is absolutely wonderful. They were very flexible and happy to accommodate any choices or last minute changes in numbers. Krystyna was really attentive and happy to answer all our questions throughout the process. She was also keen to make our day as stress free as possible (and it was!)

We really felt like we could trust the whole team to ensure our day went without a hitch. No issue was too small or big -- even when I spilled red wine all over my dress, multiple people were there to help me get the stain off (they saved my wedding dress).

We had the happiest day of our lives and didn't worry about a thing -- thanks to Krystyna, Hanna and the whole Talbot team.

After postponing our wedding for a year due to Covid, we finally had our day on 01.10.2021. What can I say… the most amazing day we could of wished for. Krystyna was great all throughout our planning and made us feel so special on the day. We had our ceremony in the barn room and reception all at the Talbot. The staff on the day were on point and all our guests said it was the best wedding they had been too. All down to the little details, we couldn’t of faulted anything on the day. For the wedding package and upgrades we made, the Talbot came well within budget and we are so glad we had our big day with you. Thank you again so much.

I stayed in the bridal suite the nights before and after the wedding. Absolutely gorgeous room - very spacious with a large bathroom (perfect for getting ready for the Big Day!). Room came with the usual tea/coffee-making facilities, as well as shampoo/body wash and hair dryer. Two armchairs and coffee table, as well as a dresser and very comfortable bed. As I said, lots of space for the hair/make-up artist, photographer, me and my sister when getting ready on the morning of the wedding.

The bridal suite is right above reception and the room where you have your interview with the registrar, which was so handy. Krystyna (the wedding planner at the Talbot) was able to pop up easily to collect me for my registrar interview and the reception staff were on hand for any queries.

My sister and I had a meal in the restaurant the night before the wedding. Food was absolutely gorgeous, there was a wide variety on the menu and it was reasonably priced. The waiting staff couldn't do enough for us!

One negative thing I would say is that the rooms do not have air conditioning and the bridal suite was like a furnace! Staff did provide two fans, but the windows don't open properly and we were baking (this was in the middle of the July heatwave)! Restaurant staff kept giving us bottles of ice water, which was very kind. The bridal suite overlooks the street as well, and there was a bit of noise from the traffic from about 4am onwards. I probably would have slept through it had I not been so excited/nervous about the wedding!

The next day, the staff were kind enough to allow me to grab some things from the breakfast bar and take them up to the bridal suite to eat while I was getting ready. The breakfast food was splendid - the usual options of pastries, yoghurts, cereal, toast and/or a cooked breakfast. Tea and coffee is brought to your table and there is a variety of fruit juice/ ice water on hand as well.

The Talbot then hosted my dream wedding! Krystyna was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole booking process, as well as two date changes due to the Covid pandemic. I booked the Talbot because all the other venues I looked at didn't have any variety or options to adapt their packages. My now-husband and I wanted a BBQ and a disco, not a three-course meal that no-one would actually like. The Talbot said, 'tell us what you want and we'll make it happen.' And they did exactly that!

When the pandemic broke out, Krystyna allowed us to change the date twice without any additional charges, which we really appreciated.

On the day of the wedding, the staff were like Swiss clocks - Krystyna took my fiancé in for his registrar interview and then got the guests sitting down so that no-one would see me. She then came to get me for my interview and then accompanied me and the flower girls to the ceremony. After the ceremony, the bride and groom are taken to the Talbot's beautiful garden and then guests are led out as well. Guests were given prosecco/orange juice and free to sit anywhere. One of my fondest memories of the day is how relaxed everyone was, sitting on pub-style garden tables and chatting after two years of being unable to see each other.

Photos were taken at the far end of the garden, where there is a gorgeous arbour bench (I think they're called) and large bushes for photos.

We then went back inside (where staff had seamlessly changed the room around for a meal) for the most amazing barbecue we could have hoped for - burgers, chicken skewers, sausages, a variety of salads, jacket potatoes... Guests all said they were absolutely stuffed by the end, which was exactly what we wanted!

The Talbot then hosted our disco and allowed us to have a hired photo booth as well. The music needed to stop at midnight, but people carried on chatting and there was no pressure to leave or anything. The Talbot does have technology in place to shut the sound off if it gets too loud, but this only happened once during the whole evening and is there to protect their neighbours, so you can't complain - just ask your DJ not to play Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl' as that's what set us all off and caused the sound to shut down :P

Beautiful breakfast the next day out in the garden. There is also an air-conditioned conservatory-style room (I think they call it the Garden Room), which was so relaxing and peaceful.

Can't recommend the Talbot enough - whether that's for a wedding, a meal out or an overnight stay :)

Couldn’t fault this place it’s so lovely everywhere you look you have something nice to see. Had a wedding there and everything went so well. Everything that was put together and planned went so well with the help of the staff. The rooms are so nice and easy to decorate. Had the most amazing day.

Had my wedding here just before Christmas, and it was perfect. It has so much character and charm, nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were all very professional and helpful.
We used most of the suppliers suggested and we couldn't have been any happier with all of them, DJ, photographer, cake, decorations and it helped to remain in budget. Everything went like clockwork.

We had the most beautiful wedding at The Talbot on 3rd November 2023. The whole venue with its character and history provided a perfect backdrop for our special day. Myself and my now husband, got married at The Talbot last September and it was absolute perfection!
From the start, their wonderful wedding co-ordinator, Krystyna, helped guide us through the process all the way through to our big day.
Every single member of staff were brilliant and went above and beyond (especially in the 32 degree weather we had!).
Myself and a few family members stayed the night before the wedding and had a lovely meal. I was anxious I wouldn't sleep very well due to nerves, but the bed in the bridal suite was so comfortable, I slept straight through till morning!
We also stayed at the hotel the night of the wedding, along with friends and family, to which everyone told us how lovely their rooms were and how well they slept.
In the morning we got a beautiful breakfast buffet, which far exceeded mine and my families expectations.
As part of our wedding package, we get to stay in the hotel for our 1st anniversary and we cannot wait to go back (My dad also insists on coming along as he loved the place so much too haha)!
The Talbot is stunning, well looked after, the food is amazing and the staff are exceptional!
