Suited to Civil Ceremonies and weddings of all sized, we are flexible to your requirements. Whether you require a small intimate occasion for up to 26 guests in our charismatic Wine Cellars dating back to 1559 and entwined with the smuggling past times of Brighton, or a grand gathering of up to 180 guests in our famous Paganini Ballroom we can tailor to suit your needs.
The Old Ship Hotel has three individually decorated rooms licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies. Our Regency Suite is the largest of the rooms, seating up to 120 people. The Regency Suite is a traditional room dating back 450 years and is grade II listed. With elegant period features such as the ornate ceiling and large stain glass windows it is ideal for creating an opulent environment. The Gresham Suite is a bright and airy room, decorated in neutral colours and high ceilings, perfect for ceremonies for up to 80 guests. However if you are looking to tie the knot whilst overlooking the famous promenade, we have our Fecamp Lounge, one of Brighton’s few sea facing function rooms, we can seat 70 of your friends and family to celebrate your marriage whilst enjoying the views.

Massive thank you
Hello Sarah, I hope you are well.Sent on 06/02/2019
Sorry this is late but wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to you and all your colleagues for making our wedding day at The Old Ship so wonderful.
It was a "different" wedding to what you are used to I am sure but you were fantastic and you got us and what we needed right from the beginning.
The hotel was amazing, the Fecamp Lounge was perfect and the staff that looked after us on the day couldn't have been kinder or better.
All of that topped with Abba in the evening and it was just what we wanted!
Thank you so much for all your help.
