Wonderful - highly recommended - 8th July 2017
Fantastic, quirky venue and highly recommended for either summer or winter weddings due to a cosy historic interior and a lovely outdoor courtyard. If you are looking for somewhere characterful with great food, fantastic service and strong attention to detail, I would highly recommend the Boot and Flogger.Sent on 24/09/2017
The Boot and Flogger is a particular favourite restaurant/bar of ours, and unusually for a central London venue has a private outdoor space and multiple indoor spaces. This meant we were able to have multiple rooms - e.g. bar, dance floor, wedding breakfast - without a need for the guests to wait for room set up or clearing. We had 35 at the wedding breakfast and a total of 70 on the night, which felt like the right number for the space.
Impeccable service all day, wonderful attention to detail on decoration, and a very flexible commercial approach. We had the run of the entire venue inside and out all day on a minimum spend basis, which I felt was great value for money especially for central London. All of the staff are absolutely lovely and Hannah and Irayna in particular were incredibly helpful in the run up to the big day.
The food is absolutely brilliant (a mix of traditional and modern British), and the wine selection is second to none. We had canapés with fino sherry, crab with Viognier, roast beef with claret, sticky toffee pudding and a cheeseboard with port. There was a delicious buffet served for the evening guests - the scotch eggs were to die for!
I would strongly recommend as a venue on the basis of ambience, quality of food and drink, and service. I think ours was actually the first wedding they had done, and everything went swimmingly.
