Exceptional staff and a beautiful venue
By Chris & Sarah, on 02 Aug 2018Date of Wedding - 20 Jul 2018
We had looked at a few venues in the area but knew as soon as we stepped inside the barn at The Crown Inn that we had found the perfect place to get married. Chloe, the wedding coordinator, was brilliant from the moment she showed us round. She was always on the end of a phone or responding to our queries, and was able to accommodate all our requests. On the day, all the staff were fantastic. They were polite and professional, and made all of our guests very comfortable. The venue itself works amazingly well, and the garden at the back gave everyone a bit of space to relax in the sunshine.
Having the cottage next door meant that there was somewhere for the bride and bridal party to get ready, which is a real bonus.
We can't praise The Crown Inn highly enough, and a special mention to Chloe who made it all so easy.
A stunning venue

We had the best day. We got married at the end of May so was hoping for good weather...and we got it! The barn is beautiful but in the sunshine the gardens and surrounding countryside make it even more special. Many guests commented on the tranquility of the venue, the fantastic food & the relaxed atmosphere of the day. We feel very lucky to have found the Crown Inn. It was everything we wanted & more. A lot of that was down to the fantastic team at the Crown Inn, who were prompt with any queries we had however big or small & worked tirelessly behind the scenes on our big day! Thank you.

We could not recommend this venue more! It is a hidden gem! The team at the Crown made our day so special! All of our guests commented on how beautiful our venue was! Rain or shine the team at the crown have an answer for everything nothing was an issue! We loved our day and this venue is perfect!
Our Magical Christmas Wedding
By Alan & Sally Bromley, on 18 Dec 2016Date of Wedding - 22 Dec 2015
From the moment we visited The Crown Inn, we knew we wanted to get married there.
The Pub, Barn and Honeymoon Cottage are surrounded by beautiful Oxfordshire countryside and as you drive into Pishill, you submerge into a tranquil rural idyll.
Our initial contact was with the manager Lucas who was friendly and informative (which was in contrast to some of the other venues we had spoken to!). During our visit, we saw the Barn in its full glory (a wedding had been set up for the next day) and we booked in for our Christmas wedding.
Our wedding planner Chloe looked after us from start to finish and we couldn't have asked for any more!
The Barn itself was rustic and cosy yet fully equipped to host a wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and the following reception. It has underfloor heating, a built in bar and its own toilet facilities (no rushing across to the pub in the rain!).
It did rain in the evening during our wedding but the Barn comfortably held all 120 guests. Having the Pub so close was excellent as it offered a quieter atmosphere for our guests to chat.
The food was incredible! Many of our guests still mention (a year later) how tasty it was. The portion sizes were very generous and cooked to perfection.
At the end of the night, we adjourned to the Honeymoon cottage which was perfect as we had very tired feet and did not want to go any further!
We couldn't recommend The Crown at Pishill highly enough!
Our Dream Wedding!

I visited Hitched.co.uk when i was looking for a wedding venue and came across the Crown Inn Pishill. It is not too far from where we live, so went and had dinner there. We instantly fell in love with the place, its beautiful rural location, and the stunning barn but more importantly the fantastic food and wine on offer and the brilliant service we received. This very quickly made our minds up for us and we are delighted we chose to get married there. Lucas and his team gave us the most perfect day from start to finish, the food was outstanding the wine options were plentiful. The stepped court yard area is the perfect setting for drinks and canapes after the ceremony and is a real sun trap, and the wedding garden out the back of the barn is a really sociable area in the evening, with access to the bar from the back. My Bridesmaid and I stayed in the cottage the night before the wedding so had a relaxed morning getting ready, and then of course my husband and I spent our first night there and sat and enjoyed breakfast at the front of the barn the next day reminiscing in the sunshine. It truly is the most perfect venue for an intimate wedding day and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
Our Perfect Day
By Sarah and James Oliver, on 20 May 2015
We had always wanted to hold our wedding reception in a barn and when we visited The Crown we simply fell in love with the place. The rural location was perfect and the barn/pub and the cottage looked so idyllic in photographs that we had seen, plus it was close to where our church ceremony was being held so it seemed the ideal place to choose.
During the planning and lead up to the big day Polly was very helpful and quick to respond to any emails and queries that we had.She was always on hand should we have any questions. Our wedding day itself was simply perfect. From the word go everything went to plan. The food was fantastic, the service from the team was very good and we had the most amazing day.We had the full capacity of 80 guests in the day and the additional 20 in the evening and this was the perfect size for the venue. It really added to the cosiness and the great atmosphere of the day.Thankfully we were very lucky with the weather though and it did stay dry however I think things could have been different if it had rained and could have possibly been a little cramped inside. We were also able to stay in the tiny cottage on the side of the barn on our wedding night, this was included in the package and this too was lovely. It added to the day.
We have had so many complimentary comments from our guests who also said they had such a great time and we both just wish we could repeat the whole day again.

We had dinner at The Crown before we were engaged, and were so impressed by the beautiful buildings and surroundings, service and food we said “If we ever get married, we'd love to have it here”. 3 months and an engagement later, we were looking at venues. We visited a few in the area, we still found ourselves returning to The Crown, and were relieved that they were able to accommodate our requirements within our budget.
The preparation ran very smoothly, and thanks to regular contact with Lucas and his team, we felt that everything was under control, they were flexible and accommodating with our requests and we didn't feel pressured or stressed – which with everything you need to think about when planning a wedding was a blessing. We were allowed in to the barn the day before the wedding to set up our decorations, which took away a lot of pressure on the big day as we already knew it looked beautiful.
The wedding day itself was perfect. I stayed in the cute cottage at the venue the night before (meaning no excuses for being late!) Everything ran smoothly, the service from The Crown Team was good, and the food was excellent – particular mention to the awesome sausages sourced from our local butcher, Jennings. My only advice would be regarding the number of guests – we had 65 who fitted perfectly, both whilst seated for the meal, and filling the dance floor during the reception. I believe the venue says it can accommodate up to 80 for the ceremony and seated meal, which in my opinion would be a squeeze.
We’ve had so many compliments on our wedding and venue choice, and we’d like to thank The Crown for helping to make our big absolutely perfect.

When we saw the Crown Inn we imagined ourselves getting married in this simply charming barn, adjoining the pub, in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. They are also one of the few venues which serve real ale regularly which I found reassuring. We went for a meal one evening to see what the food and service are like. The food is excellent, the beer is well kept and the staff are helpful; and this is just their standard service.
We booked a meeting with the Events Manager to discuss what we wanted and from this point onwards they were helpful, honest and responded promptly to queries. We were able to tailor almost every aspect of our wedding from the ceremony through to the reception, with friendly guidance on hand when had missed something or didn’t know what we wanted. With no official wedding planner organising us this was invaluable and credit is due to the team at the Crown for the seamless running of our big day.
Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time including us and since then we received many positive remarks about how well everything went. This might be normal? However we also had a number of comments about the fantastic food which from two families, and a group of friends, who all take food quite “seriously” is praise indeed. Finally, the price was also exceeding close to the quote which has not been the experience some of our friends.
The most amazing day ever
