Our venue provides an intimate terraced garden overlooking the lush forest and the rolling hills between Umbria and Tuscany near the beautiful city of Cortona, renowned for its Etruscan origins. Facilities and Capacity

The scale and design of Terzo di Danciano are guaranteed to satisfy those who have big dreams for their extraordinary celebration.The indoor facility boasts a spacious 450 m2 area, perfect for hosting the most beautiful and intimate wedding gathering. With our terraced garden, private swimming pool and a paved courtyard with stunning views over the valley and our private spa, your guests will be in awe of the natural beauty and historical ambience that surround them during your stay. Our Bachificio building which is set near the main house with the bedrooms, built in 1860. It has been converted from an ancient silk worm nursery into a theater with excellent acoustics, 8.5 meter-high stone walls and cathedral-like ceiling. This sacred space upstairs with hardwood floor, large french doors on all sides opening to the views and uncomparable historical ambience allows you to comfortably plan a seated dinner for up to 150 guests. Of course if you are dreaming of an outdoor event you are also covered. Our beautiful outside space and private garden allows you to have not only the welcome celebration, the ceremony and the apperitivi outside but also your wedding dinner under the stars and even the dance party and wedding cake cutting. The dining room on the ground floor of the Bachificio with the vaulted ceiling and a large fireplace can add a cozy and enchanting ambiance to your special day. Our 800-year old main house has 10 bedrooms and is able to accommodate up to 22 adult guests in charming rooms, all with a gorgeous view. Your comfort during your stay is our top priority. Each bedroom has king-size beds with Italian made brand new mattresses with a built-in memory foam layer and top quality beddings. Walking distance from us there is a B&B with an additional 10 beds for adults. In case your guests arrive with their family we can provide an additional 6 single beds for single guests so it expands it to a total maximum capacity of 38. We have a network of B&Bs and agriturismi nearby that permits us to host weddings of up to 180 people.

We quickly and crearly communicate directly with you about everything that is needed to create the wedding of your dream, which is often intimidating when you choose to get married in a foreign country. Without charging you additional fees, we are happy to take you through step by step of this special day as well as to help you orchestrate all the details with you the way you imagine it, including the transportation, the pizza party the day before, the brunch, or pool party the day after, onsite cooking class, wine tasting, open bar, florist, photograhers, DJ, lighting and more.

The catering company we collaborate with is historically known and has been offering top-quality cuisine for decades. They only use fresh, exquisite, local ingredients. They can create and serve irrisistable bite-size appetizers, canapes, beautifully themed buffets and of course an elegant seated dinner that will satisfy and delight you and all your guests on this unforgetable occasion. We will provide you with a sample menu and offer you an opportunity to come do a tasting in person where you are able to experience and choose carefully everything that you would like to include in this special meal. After that we will orchestrate the wedding menu together to match all your desires. We always make sure that guests with special dietary requirements, wether it is vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free etc. all receive an equally mouth-watering experience. For our guests who are not able to come visit in person we are still happy to create the best possible experience and discuss all the details over zoomcalls and emails.

The 13th century church of San Donnino is a jewel embedded in the silence at the edge of a centuries-old olive grove and forest. A place of pristine and touching beauty, ideal for the celebration of a religious (catholic) wedding ceremony. This church is 5 minutes by car down the hill from Terzo di Danciano. In case you prefer a symbolic ceremony we can offer two locations, one in front of our ancient mullberry tree in the garden with the back drop of our 800-year old main house or in our olive grove on the lower terrace of our garden with a breath-taking view of the surrounding hills.

In case you decide to choose Terzo di Danciano for your wedding, we provide you with a list of excellent local professionals, florists, photographers, videographers, musicians, DJs, lighting specialist, hair dressers, make-up artists etc. We are also happy to guide you through the process of choosing the best fit for you if desired. Transportation to and from the venue is essential. We collaborate with a handful of local companies that are 100% reliable and very reasonably priced. After discussing with you all the details prior to the event, we orchestrate with you everything so on your special day you can relax and know that all your guests will be taken care of.

Location

We are located in the rolling hills outside Cortona. About a 30-minute car ride from the historical center. Montepulciano and Assisi are about an hour and 15 minute car ride, Peruggia and Gubbio are 50 minutes from us. World-known historical places are nearby so your guests can easily connect some excursions to the time they come to celebrate you here. The closest airport is Assisi/Perugia but there are more frequent connection from Florence which is an hour and a half from here. Rome Fiumicino airport is about 3 hours. We are happy to help organize taxis, vans or buses for your guests if needed.
