  Amazing in everyway

  This was our venue for our wedding and it was so unbelievably amazing. The workers were super friendly and helpful and made the day run so smoothly. The food was unbelievable and we got so many compliments about how good it was. We couldn't be happier with this venue and would chose them time and time again. We can't thank them enough for everything they did!

  Excellent Service, Best Day of our Lives

  The Crown & Thistle team made our wedding day perfect, beyond that in fact. Jannica made all the build up to the wedding work smoothly and simply. Once there, Beth was a superb host and handled everything in her stride, including being given complete free reign to decorate our tables! Happiest couple on the planet thanks to this wonderful team!

  We had our dream lavender wedding in July 2022

  We would like to start by praising Andy, who went above and beyond and met all our (very high) expectations as a manager and our event coordinator. We would like to especially thank him for keeping The Crown and Thistle staff so well and professional and thanks to that our wedding went smoothly, our guests were well cared for and fed and the feedback from them was outstanding. Thank you Andy for all the tips and for being so patient and approachable. We were very impressed by how prepared you came for our meeting, how patiently you were responding to all our questions, and as a result we felt at ease. It was great that the venue had such respect for the wedding and came up as a one team to support all external suppliers working for the couple. We were feeling like we were leaving all organisational aspects in safe hands. Our suppliers were truly amazed by your flexibility, individual approach and hard work. We had some minor issues with communication with main office (for example like cake stand measurements, essential for our wedding cake supplier!) and in fact the cake was not portioned as per instructions given (and we had some unplanned leftovers). Apart from that, everything else was perfect, our guests were very happy and we would recommend The Crown and Thistle as a wedding venue for the future couples.

  Perfect Wedding Day

  We had an amazing wedding day in April 2019 at the Crown and Thistle Hotel and we would really recommend as a wedding venue. We had our ceremony and reception at the venue, and it couldn't have been a better day. The Barn is a beautiful setting, and the ceremony felt really intimate. It's perfect if you like the rustic look; we kept it really simple with our table decorations and the staff made everything look so beautiful.
  In general all the staff were all so helpful and made our day go without a flaw.
  And a massive thank you to the chef, the food was so good, and we even have our friends telling us a month on that it is some of the best wedding food they have had! Portions were excellent, and the evening buffet was really great too so it was really good value for money as part of the packages they offer.
  The Abbey Gardens just behind the venue is great for wedding photos too, so we felt the venue had everything we needed.
  The team were all so helpful, especially Danielle at Head Office and Giancarlo and Alice at the venue, who were so helpful at every meeting and answered all our questions. Thanks so much; we'd love to go back and celebrate our day all over again!

  Amazing day

  Wow what an amazing wedding we had at The Crown & Thistle! Our day was just as we had hoped for and we can’t thank the team enough for helping make our dream a reality. It felt completely bespoke, nothing was too much to ask for, we received lots of compliments on the food and the venue is just stunning! I would highly recommend!

  I was just looking on this site while reminiscing about my wedding last year and was surprised to see that there were no reviews for the Crown and Thistle. We enjoyed a superb reception at the hotel last April. The food and service were outstanding. It is a wonderful venue for a reception with delightful rooms for guests. I would wholeheartedly recommend a wedding reception here.
