Brimming with a relaxing and intimate atmosphere, The Dorothy Clive Garden is a beautiful 12-acre country wedding venue located in Shropshire. Nestled on the borders of Cheshire and Shropshire, this exquisite English garden offers a scenic backdrop all year round for a lavish marquee celebration. Here you can enjoy plenty of photo opportunities to create a plethora of memorable moments for you and your guests.

Facilities and Capacity

The Dorothy Clive Garden offers a riveting selection of licensed ceremony settings enveloped in natural beauty. The Belvedere Pavilion lies at the top of the garden and provides the most magnificent outdoor location for up to 150 seated guests. Elsewhere, the Bryan Mayer Pavilion is a chic rustic setting ideal for smaller weddings of 70. Afterwards, you are free to embrace a wedding feast and drinks reception in any manner you please. You could return to the Mayer Pavilion for a sweet country dining experience with 40 friends and family. Alternatively, you can hire the generous Paddock Lawn for a marquee or tipi reception with no limit on your guest numbers. Meanwhile, the Lower Tea Lawn is readily available for those embarking on a micro wedding of 15. Here in the heart of the garden, you and your loved ones can share the day in a cosy marquee, affectionately called the Little Hat.

Beautiful Garden Wedding

Dorothy Clive garden was the ideal venue for our wedding. I have been going there since I was a child so it was already special. They were so helpful and willing to make it the wedding we wanted. The garden provided a beautiful backdrop to all our photos and even though it is open to the public it felt quite separate and secluded. It was even better than we expected and we would definitely recommend the garden to anyone planning their wedding.

Beautiful wedding

Its an idyllic venue for a small and intimate wedding set amongst the gardens with nature’s beauty as the backdrop. Our wedding planner Meg and the team at Dorothy gave us friendly support and were always on hand to help make this day so special.

A Beautiful Place to Celebrate Your Day

Such a beautiful garden and everyone could not be more helpful! So many beautiful areas in the garden to create wonderful photos whether they are couples shots, groups or candid moments caught on camera. I can't recommend this place anymore they are brilliant 💜

Simply wonderful

From the moment I visited the Dorothy Clive Garden, I knew it was the perfect place for us to get married. My husband agreed and we began preparations.
We liaised with Kathryn who took time to talk us through options and details, nothing was too much trouble.
We then worked with Meg, a wonderful wedding planner at the gardens. She was simply fabulous, a caring individual who loves what she does.
The afternoon tea was absolutely perfect! All our guests enjoyed themselves and commented on how lovely and unique our wedding was.
Needless to say, I highly recommend this wonderful venue for a wedding.
Thank you Kathryn, Meg and your fantastic team for making our day so memorable!

Ceremony in Woodland Pavilion

The Woodland Pavilion at the Dorothy Clive Garden, although small, is an ideal place to hold an intimate wedding ceremony in a rural setting. It is a roofed structure with a flagged floor and wooden background wall and several large pillars.
It is tucked away in a quiet corner of the garden, giving considerable privacy to your celebration, even on busy days.
There is the opportunity to decorate and furnish the area to your wishes, in a short space of time, making it into a very personal space.
There are several outdoor areas for an “after ceremony get together” and, if like us, you are blessed with wonderful weather on the day, you will certainly have a magical day to remember.

A Magical Day in a Great Setting.

We wanted a simple family and friends only wedding, we wanted outside, we wanted simple and down to earth, we wanted it DOG FRIENDLY, we wanted it intermate, we wanted a beautiful location.. Dorothy Clive provided all of this plus much more, nothing was to much to make our day, truly one to remember..
