About
Eltham Palace is a historic wedding venue located just outside of London, England, in the picturesque borough of Greenwich. The former childhood home of King Henry VIII, it was transformed and given new life in the 1930s by Stephen and Virginia Courtauld. Here, you'll find Art Deco details, while the grounds are home to a medieval moat, the city's oldest working bridge, and a sunken rose garden.
Facilities and Capacity
Eltham Palace is well-suited to events of all sizes. Couples can choose to host their celebrations in the Entrance Hall, the Italian Drawing Room, and the Great Hall. Hold a romantic ceremony in the Entrance Hall, which offers circular wood paneling and a grand staircase, perfect for a memorable entrance and photography. A glass dome and French doors that lead onto the terrace fill the space with natural light. From here, you can make your way to the Italian Drawing Room for a drinks reception. It's finished in warm shades of orange and ochre with various blue accents. Larger celebrations with up to 200 guests can be held in the Great Hall. This space is able to accommodate both ceremonies, wedding breakfasts, and dancing. It's separated from the main house with a slide lacquer screen. Set your musicians up in the minstrels' gallery that overlooks the hall. This space opens up onto the lawns, which cover 19 acres and are ideal for outdoor photography.
