A magical day at Ramster
By Laura & Paul, on 18 Nov 2017Date of Wedding - 07 Oct 2017
Ramster Hall was the first venue that we saw and we fell in love with it instantly. What makes is so different from other wedding venues is the personal touches that are so visible throughout the venue; from the beautiful paintings and antiques to the unique building, and wonderful surroundings and gardens.
From our first visit, Rosie was never less than amazing. She made us feel so welcome into her home, and was genuinely interested in us as a couple. She made us feel like no request was too much and that we could create our special day exactly as we wanted it. She has also assembled a recommended list of wonderful specialists who know the venue inside out. We therefore felt like we could, as JJ our caterer said, "create the dream team."
We were able to have a really intimate ceremony in The Great Drawing room, which really reflected us, and many of our guests commented on how special this was. Having separate rooms and the courtyard made it really easy for our guests during the day to move around and participate as they wished, and The Long Hall was perfect for our reception and live music in the evening.
Overall Ramster was essential to the ethereal/festival theme that we wanted to create. It was a magical day and wish we could do it all again.
Thank you so very much Rosie and everyone at Ramster.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Ramster Hall. We are so pleased you had such a wonderful day, and were delighted to be part of your special day.
Best choice we ever made

Ramster is one of the most stunning venues there can be. It has such history and character in all of its rooms, it was just perfect for us. Our day and photos looks like a fairytale. Not only are the surroundings and gardens beautiful, but Rosie who owns it was so helpful on the day. She knew what to do and helped in everyway possible to make sure the day ran smoothly. Ramster is a must !
A class apart
By Thomas & Melanie, on 05 Feb 2014
We had our wedding at Ramster on 4th January 2014. Firstly, anyone that has been to the venue or seen photos will agree that there are few locations that appear more magnificent, so I won't wax lyrical about that.
I think it is always natural to have some worries about how everything will turn out on the day. How will the venue look in full wedding mode? How will the staff be? Once you pay your money are they going to keep coming back with small additional charges? Are they going to become difficult in anyway? On top of that, we organised our wedding from Australia and had such a busy trip back to the UK over Xmas and NY that we didn’t really have an opportunity to chat with Ramster in person before rehearsal day.
In every way, every question/ concern we had, including those above, became a complete non-issue - Ramster were brilliant.
The caterers, Jacaranda, are a class apart - without exception everyone mentioned how impressed they were with not only the food but the timing, flexibility and anonymity of Jacaranda on the day. They were worth every penny we paid and more.
If I had to put my finger on one thing that really stood out and made the day go so well for us, I think that I'd choose to highlight the strength and smoothness of the working relationship between Ramster Hall and the caterers Jacaranda.
When you think about it, given that those two costs are probably your two biggest, it is imperative that those two elements are communicating well. At Ramster Hall, for our wedding at least, that relationship was evident far beyond what we could have hoped for given the money we'd paid.
Have a great day!
A magical venue come rain or shine
By Kim L, on 24 Jun 2013
I got married at Ramster in May and loved every moment of it. The venue has so much character and charisma with all the personal belongings, paintings, books, etc. that minimal extra decoration is required. We suffered rain showers on the day itself but knowing that was always a risk, we were never worried since the interior of the venue is beautiful. When it was dry, we went out to the main gardens for our photos which are absolutely stunning and full of colour. Although the venue is steeped in history, its facilities are modern (i.e. kitchen and loos) which I found made quite a difference compared to some of the other venues I visited. There are certain restrictions (no confetti, no narrow heels) but this made no impact on how special the day was.
The booking process and the build-up to the day was incredibly smooth – Rosie was always available and responsive to all my queries and I felt I was being looked after by a safe pair of hands. I also got ready at the on-site B&B (The Stable Flat) which was really practical, convenient and comfortable. I would definitely recommend Ramster!
We picked the best venue for our wedding!

We had our wedding at Ramster on 25th August and I really can’t tell you how perfect this venue is for a wedding!
The interior of the Ramster really has to be seen in person. I have to admit the twinkly lights hanging from the ceiling really sold it for me and just make the whole room perfect. The venue isn’t too big, so it’s perfect for a wedding party of about 100 – 120. Having the dance floor at one end and the bar area at the other means that everyone can be in the same room but still enjoy the whole atmosphere. Jacaranda caterers really were fantastic; they’re not just caterers but more like wedding planners on the day! We didn’t have to worry about a thing, it was all under control. We couldn’t use the courtyard for long because it rained in the afternoon but it really didn’t affect the day at all, however, if you are lucky enough to have a clear day, this area is so peaceful and intimate…a perfect place for a drinks reception. We used Mark the in house DJ and the dance floor was PACKED the whole night! He wasn’t vocal and stuck to what we wanted whilst also taking requests for anyone who had any. Some guests even took his business card for future events. Rosie and the team at Ramster were also lovely, couldn’t do enough for us and really let you have free reign of their beautiful house. Go and take a look!
A Really Interesting Venue

I attended a wedding at Ramster Hall on July 14th, 2012, and even though the weather wasn't great, the venue was welcoming and accommodating to everyone! Ramster Hall is full of character and features unusual paintings and historic items; giving guests plenty to look at during the cocktail hour. The wedding ceremony was lovely, and the flow of the day afterwards was really smooth. This venue would be ideal for a summer or winter wedding as it has features that work well in any season!
We had a really lovely day and I would recommend Ramster Hall very highly to anyone.
Cozy, Friendly, Absolutely Perfect

We got Married and had our Wedding Reception at Ramster in October 2011 and it was perfect.
Rosie from Ramster was so helpful in the lead up to the wedding, giving us all the help and advice we needed as well as keeping me calm. Jacaranda provided amazing food (which is still one of the fist comments guests say to us when we talk about the wedding) and ran the day for us, taking away all the worry and pressure. The venue was beautiful, cozy and homely but in a very special way. We luckly had amazing weather and put the courtyard to good use. I loved how we had the whole venue to ourselves for the whole day so all the guests could make themselves at home and relax, and just enjoy the food and atmosphere and only worry themselves about getting on the right bus to their hotel at the end of the night. A perfect wedding!

We held our wedding reception at Ramster on Friday 2nd December and it was a beautiful evening. It was the first venue we viewed and we knew immediately it would make for the perfect winter wedding. So many of the guests commented on how much they loved the Brick Hall and the Drawing Room as well as the main Hall. The DJ and caterers were also brilliant. A magical occasion.
A perfect day in a perfect venue

We used Ramster for our wedding on Saturday 3rd December 2011 and we had the perfect day. The venue was stunning and all the guests commented on this. Rosie and her team were excellent and a real support.
Perfect venue and perfect wedding!

We recently held our wedding reception at Ramster Hall and we would highly recommend the venue. Rosie the venue owner was so lovely and approachable and couldn't do enough for us.
We had booked at another similar venue in Midhurst and had an awful experience with the venue owner so we took the very tough decision to cut our losses and move our wedding to Ramster Hall 9 days before the wedding! Very stressful as you can imagine but it was totally the right decision as we really wanted it to be an enjoyable day filled with happy memories of the venue.
What had been an unhappy, stressful and frustrating process for the last year was suddenly a happy, hasslefree and enjoyable experience and we can't praise Ramster enough! Thank you Ramster Hall for saving our wedding day - we will be eternally grateful!
A bit about the venue - one big bonus is that it has a lovely outdoor courtyard but also another stunning reception room (separate from the wedding breakfast room) so it works well for a drinks reception come rain or shine. It's a venue that would be beautiful and cosy all year around - both summer and winter. You can also use the Ramster gardens for your couple photos which are really pretty.
We loved our wedding at Ramster - it was the perfect day in the perfect setting!
One word of advice during your venue search, if you get a bad vibe from a venue owner then go with your gut instinct - it's usually right (no matter how beautiful a venue is it's not worth month's of stress and aggravation trust me!!). Good luck with your search! (-:

We had an amazing time at Ramster. Rosie was great and worked really well with Jacaranda caterers.
Ramster was a perfect place to get married, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Once you visit you'll see for yourself how perfect it is!
AMAZING - 5 stars not adequate!!

Words cannot reveal the true beauty of ramster - she has to be seen to be believed
We had the best wedding ever....... I maybe bias but many of the guests said that it was also (some even sighed that it was better than their own - so that must surely count for something)
Rosie and all of the jacaranda staff are outstanding, we would not have changed a thing
Also if you are thinking that a DJ would not be able to give the same atmosphere as a band then you haven't met Mark the house DJ - he kept the floor busy all night long
