As soon as we knew that it was possible to get married at The Old School, that was it, our choice was made. It’s such a beautiful historic building with lovely grounds, and a gorgeous guest house, hall and cafe area. We rented the entire site from Friday afternoon until Sunday. Fantastic value, and from start to finish we felt looked after by the wonderful staff at The Old School. Thanks to them we were able to create our perfect autumnal wedding. Our guests loved the venue, the relaxed intimate atmosphere and of course the party. We were able to do the whole thing seamlessly thanks to Sara ,Hayley and the team who transformed the hall from ceremony to reception when we popped outside for the photos.
We chose to have a food van and a mobile bar which worked perfectly for us. It could not have been a better day.

From start to finish, Sarah, Hayley and the team were supportive, accommodating, patient, kind, and knowledgable making sure that our wedding day was perfect. After visiting The Old School and meeting with Sarah, we were certain that we wanted to use this venue for our special day and booked our wedding that very afternoon. Whenever we had questions they were answered quickly and completely and we were never made to feel like we were asking too much or bothering anyone. Sarah and the team were receptive to all our ideas- and there were a lot of non traditional elements to our day- and helped us find ways to make them work. We were able to tailor the whole day to be exactly what we wanted and the team at The Old School made it so that everything went perfectly. The day before the wedding, we arrived to decorate and the staff helped us with the big changes, like switching out the curtains. Sarah handed over all the information to us, showed us how to use safety equipment and lock up the building before giving us the keys for us to finish. Before they left they asked us to set up a table for the meal so they could take photos and make sure that changing the room from ceremony to meal would go smoothly and look the way we wanted it to. We set up the chairs (which were easy to set up and put away), the sound system, the decorations, and final touches. I (the bride) stayed in the guesthouse on site with my bridal party that night and it was fabulous. The guesthouse has so much character and plenty of space and natural light to get ready in the morning. In the morning, Sarah organised the registrars and my husband to make sure the ceremony started in the right way. After the ceremony, the team made sure the prosecco and non alcoholic drinks we had provided were served for our guests while they changed the hall from ceremony to meal. We opted to have afternoon tea catered by The Old School and it was incredible! All our guests raved about it, especially the sausage rolls! We honestly couldn't have asked for a better team to help us realise our perfect day. They made sure it all went perfectly and the whole experience was stress free. We highly recommend The Old School for weddings and other events, and we will be coming back to celebrate big events here in the future.
