Dreams do come true
Never did we think on our search for our perfect venue would we find a place that meets all our criteria and exceeds expectations. We stumbled upon Machermore on a drive up to Scotland to see family. Wow!! Everything we dreamt of was in this venue. Machermore offered such a fantastic service from the very start of our planning, right the way through to the day after our wedding. We chose our fairytale wedding on the lawn which was just magical, with stunning scenery and backdrop of the beautiful castle. The ballroom was huge and very modern with a lovely cosy bar. The decor was of quintessential Scottish castle charm. We were offered a choice of both modern and tradition Scottish menus for our wedding breakfast and evening spread. Our guests were also very impressed with the delicious food. The team at Machermore had everything sorted, nothing was too much trouble even when I changed my mind at the last minute about a few details like layouts and drinks on the lawn. They had it covered. The attention to detail was second to none. Our guests had clean, cozy & comfortable accommodation throughout the estate and it’s lodges. We would be delighted in recommending Machermore to anyone who is searching for their dream venue. It’s purely perfect and versatile to all types and sizes of weddings. Perfect for families with small children. We’ll definitely be returning for a weekend stay on our next trip to Scotland. Easily accessible from Dumfries and M6. Thanks again for making our day truly magical.Sent on 25/10/2019

We got married here a few weeks ago, it was the most perfect day. The ambience, the décor, the catering, the staff, the DJ, the music was planned perfectly. We had an intimate gathering of around 50 or so people, friends and family, it felt really personal. The owners and the wedding planner made sure everything was sorted for us. Rooms were immaculate, the location and surroundings were stunning, great for pictures set in fairytale type scene. No worry of bystanders looking it's all really private. Wish we could do it all over again. We highly recommend you make this your wedding venue.Sent on 30/09/2019

Intimacy. Charm. Class. And Within Budget
Our search focus on the Galloway Forest region which is within proximity to Darryl's hometown of Whithorn, Machermore was recommended to us by a young couple we met by chance at a cafe in nearby Newton Stewart.Sent on 03/11/2019
In a nutshell, using our F&B backgrounds we created our own order list/menu with corresponding itemised budget. The Machermore owners were able to accommodate our requirements in a no-nonsense and professional manner. Their pricing seemed fair, transparent and void of the 20% vendors commonly slap at the first utterance of the word 'wedding'.
A brief description of the property:
Located at the southern edge of the Galloway Forest Park, Machermore offers basic but nice accommodation that is well equipped for longer stay.
The impressive 16th-17th century facade provides a trip back in time while the more modern 19th century Baronial remodelling is tastefully integrated along with the gardens of the same period.
Facilities and Budgeting:
If you're a couple focused on value for money, cutting the superfluous from the budget in favour of more important things like the food and beverage, I highly recommend Machermore.
Last but not least, celebrating your wedding in this charming Castle surrounded by its omnipresent spectre of history, class and charm, could be the closest thing to being the Prince & Princess, if only for a night.
