Located in the historically significant Kilmartin Glen, Argyll in western Scotland, Kilmartin Castle offers a beautiful venue to host intimate destination weddings of 10 guests maximum. Steeped in history and enriched with an air of ancient magic, this enchanting 16th Century castle is sure to host an unforgettable wedding experience. Fossilised in time, this venue is one still bestowed with all the lavish furnishing of royalty, hidden in the tranquil expanse of Kilmartin Glen. Adorned with ceremonial standing stones, hill forts, and numerous other historical landmarks, the landscape is imbued with an air of wild majesty, while never too far from wider civilisation.
Facilities and Capacity
At Kilmartin Castle, couples can reclaim the historic halls that bore witness to the passing of multiple royal ceremonies for their own union. Bridging the divide between past and present, Kilmartin Castle has seamlessly blended the lavish essence of the 16th century with all of our modern-day comforts. The dining room will play a rustic and intimate host to your reception, allowing guests to feast at wooden tables by candlelight. With room for eight overnight guests in the castle walls, this location is ideal for intimate ceremonies, and the assortment of rooms will leave your loved ones spoiled for choice. This venue boasts copper bathtubs, wooden stoves, and walk-in rain showers. Curl up in the whisky snug, or upon one of the many alcoves bathed in the natural glow that stretches through arrow-slit windows. The location is ideal for photo opportunities, as your ceremony will be nestled within the rolling hills and blossoming grounds of the Scottish wilderness.

Hold your ceremony in the castle orchard, on the raised formal lawn, in the castle courtyard or even in the grand hall in front of a roaring fire.
Photographer, Bill Baillie, will meet you the day before your wedding to run through any last-minute questions. All of your photographs belong to you.
Local florist and talented artist, Gill Stewart, will work closely with you. Flowers are seasonal and local, and a number are grown in the castle gardens.
Homemade choice of canapes served after your ceremony, served by private chef, Ali Jones.
Sadie, the Superminx, our vintage convertible. The perfect way to head out to the standing stones, local stone circles, or nearby beaches for photographs.
3-course wedding breakfast. Your ideal menu can be decided with our private chef, Ali Jones.
Crockery, glasses, cutlery, linen napkins and rustic wood risers. A choice of vintage blue & white china or rustic enamel falcon ware.
Bring your own Champagne, wine, or beer. We do not charge corkage.

The castle dining room, with its original stone barrel-vaulted ceiling, is a fantastic place to enjoy your intimate wedding breakfast as you celebrate the beginning of your new adventure together. The West Coast of Scotland is known for its fabulously fresh seafood, and high-quality, high welfare local ingredients are readily available. We grow our own organic vegetables in the castle gardens.
