Kilmartin Castle 1

A romantic 16th-century castle built during the legendary reign of Mary Queen of Scots, nestled into the ancient landscape of Kilmartin Glen, just 2 hours from Glasgow Airport. Explore the many surrounding historic sites of standing stones, hill forts, ceremonial stone circles, and ancient rock carvings that make our Glen an extremely special place. Located in Argyll, on the rugged West Coast of Scotland, this is the perfect choice for small elopement parties of 2-8 family and friends. Lovingly restored, the castle features 4 en-suite bedrooms. Retaining their medieval rustic magic, all of our rooms have also been designed to cleverly spoil you with the luxury comforts of modern living including underfloor heating, rain showers, handcrafted copper bathtubs, and of course, luxury linen.

Marry in the castle grounds, in the grand hall, or in Kilmartin Glen. The beauty of getting married in Scotland is that you can say “Wee do” wherever you want to! The castle dining room, with its original stone barrel-vaulted ceiling, is a fantastic place to enjoy your intimate wedding breakfast as you celebrate the beginning of your new adventure together. The West Coast of Scotland is known for its fabulously fresh seafood, and high-quality, high welfare local ingredients are readily available. We grow our own organic vegetables in the castle gardens.

The many historic sites of Kilmartin Glen are perfect wedding photography locations. Walkout to ancient standing stones, or jump in Sadie, our vintage convertible, and head to the dramatic hilltops or gorgeous beaches nearby.

Elopement prices, with no hidden costs, are £5,900 October to February and £6,900 March - September

What is included?

Check-in from 11am on the day of arrival. Check-out 11am on the day you leave us.

2 nights use of all 4 guest rooms at Kilmartin Castle. You will be the only bed and breakfast guests during your stay.

A 2-course breakfast each morning. We will be here to make it whatever time you would like it

Exclusive use of castle gardens and grounds with fire-pit and outdoor dining area.

Hold your ceremony in the castle orchard, on the raised formal lawn, in the castle courtyard or even in the grand hall in front of a roaring fire.

Photographer, Bill Baillie, will meet you the day before your wedding to run through any last-minute questions. All of your photographs belong to you.

Local florist and talented artist, Gill Stewart, will work closely with you. Flowers are seasonal and local, and a number are grown in the castle gardens.

Homemade choice of canapes served after your ceremony, served by private chef, Ali Jones.

Sadie, the Superminx, our vintage convertible. The perfect way to head out to the standing stones, local stone circles, or nearby beaches for photographs.

3-course wedding breakfast. Your ideal menu can be decided with our private chef, Ali Jones.

Crockery, glasses, cutlery, linen napkins and rustic wood risers. A choice of vintage blue & white china or rustic enamel falcon ware.

Bring your own Champagne, wine, or beer. We do not charge corkage.

Witnesses should you need them.
