Refusing to issue refunds due to covid pandemic
The venue are refusing to refund any of the £6927 that we have paid to them for a wedding that they can't run due to the Covid pandemic. They are also trying to sell the property whilst at the same time taking bookings and money for weddings.Sent on 30/07/2020

I attended a wedding here early 2019. As soon as you drive through the entrance a sudden shock of - 'oh my word, what have we come to' suddenly hit. Things like the grass being long, pigeon poo everywhere, with all fences rotten. I felt sorry for the bride and groom. Cheap and nasty.Sent on 11/04/2019

Wedding day and stay
Buildings and rooms beautiful. Luckily we are very adaptable, otherwise appalling management would have ruined ruined the day.Sent on 04/01/2019
We had a small wedding (70 guests) and were only permitted to be in one room at any one time during the wedding day. This meant that guests who did not like loud music left early as they were locked out of the (promised) quiet bar.
The owner seemed to promise whatever he thought people wanted but had no intention of providing it. He was noticeably absent on the day.
The staff ushered us from room to room and locked the doors behind us.
The outside doors were locked such that the band could not get in and missed one of their sets. They eventually managed to get in when we were ushered outside for the fireworks.
We had arranged to put up our own decorations and table decs (including fairy lights around the pillars.) Setting up was no problem, but collecting it all the next day a nightmare. The owner had promised he would have it all taken down and put in one place for us. We arrived and the hall was locked. Door bells were not answered and no answer on the phone numbers. Eventually a reluctant cleaner opened a door and we pushed past her as she did not really want to allow us to enter. Most of the stuff was ready, but the lights were still up the pillars. No ladder to enable us to get them down. Eventually removed with combination of chairs and tables, but rather dangerous and not what was promised.
We also rented their houses which were a nightmare - poorly equipped, freezing cold, no curtains in the bedrooms etc. etc.,
All this could be solved with decent management which was lacking.
