Family-owned-and-operated, Henge Estate is a restored Georgian manor and wedding venue in Shrewton, Wiltshire. This majestic country estate has two luxurious and sustainably-minded properties set on its 25 acres, to sleep 22 people. The venue only permits seven special weddings each year.

Located on the edge of the Salisbury Plain, six minutes from Stonehenge and less than two hours from London, the venue makes a marvellous base to explore this historic region. This peaceful and unique retreat makes a remarkable backdrop for a couple's wedding.

Facilities and Capacity

A couple may wed in St. Mary's, the ancient Norman Church in Shrewton, or in the registry office in Salisbury. Afterwards, the newlyweds and their guests can gather at the estate for a reception held on the grounds or in the house. They welcome celebrant-led ceremonies on site. A micro-wedding of between 10 and 24 can be accommodated in the intimate luxury of the dining room, with its views of the front lawn and pastoral fields. For groups of between 25 and 200 in size, a marquee will be set up on the front lawn of the house or on the tennis court nestled in the nearby woods.

Henge Estate offers overnight accommodation for a couple and guests. The property has 10 bedrooms with as many private bathrooms. Up to 22 people can enjoy exclusive use of these accommodations. For festivities, dining facilities are available. This venue has no corkage fee, making arranging beverages more convenient. The property will also have multiple locations licensed for a legal civil ceremony from 1 April 2026.

History

The Manor House of Henge Estate is known as Shrewton House, and is believed to have been originally built c. 1830 by local landed gentry in late Georgian style, with mosaic tiling in the entrance hall, four pairs of Tuscan columns, a balcony, and a limestone front. The house has been expanded and renovated over the years.
