Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

My husband (!!!!) was originally from Oxford and has always loved the area so after he popped the question (after 12 years of waiting) we knew we wanted to get married in the area. We came across Hawkwell House and fell in love...again!
Nothing has ever been too much trouble for the team. The grounds are beautiful for pretty much a city centre hotel and it was easy to get to for all of the guests getting here from around the UK.
We had the service and reception at Hawkwell House and were totally looked after, Alejandra worked with us brilliantly in coordinating all the details...not easy when mother keeps inviting guests! She is already on my Christmas card list and Gyula with his Operations team didn't rest until we did (in fact they probably worked after we rested to set up for the much needed breakfast in the morning).
Thank you from the bottom of my Heart for myself and Jimmy for taking such good care of us and putting the icing on our wedding cake!!!!

We got married on 27th December 2016 and cannot praise the staff at Hawkwell House enough! To say they made our dream wedding is an understatement. Not only is the venue beautiful and made a perfect Winter Wonderland venue for our special day but the staff were outstanding. Between booking our wedding and the big day, the hotel was taken over and all staff were changed. However, these changes proved to be huge positives as Kayleigh (the Events and Wedding Coordinator) and the General Manager Darren were absolutely fantastic. All questions and queries were answered quickly and efficiently without any fuss. We wished to release pre-lit balloons and Kayleigh researched it and sent me the form that needed to be submitted to ensure we weren't contravening any Civil Aviation rules. The day before the wedding, my wedding party and I arrived to do a mock-up table in the reception room. Darren arranged for complimentary drinks and snacks which we thought was a lovely touch. We also received a beautiful hamper in our suite filled with lovely little gifts. On the day itself I genuinely didn't have to think about a thing as they had already thought of everything. It ran so smoothly and all the guest commented on how well coordinated it seemed. The food was top notch and even the last table served commented that the food was still piping hot. The DJ arranged by the venue had every single song we requested and was happy to play anything we asked. It was literally the best day of our lives and we owe a debt of gratitude to the staff at Hawkwell, especially Kayleigh and Darren. Words cannot express how happy we were with the outcome of the day and now we can't wait to start married life!
Fantastic wedding venue

We had our wedding reception at Hawkwell on the 19th August. We booked the venue back in March 2015 and chose Hawkwell because the wedding coordinator at the time was warm, friendly, down to earth and flexible - a rare find with Oxford venues for a summer wedding!
We were concerned when our wedding coordinator told us he had handed his notice in in April 2016 and for a while our concerns were realised. As the hotel changed hands we saw a marked change in the level of service and degree of flexibility and we expressed our disappointment to the new wedding coordinator who had taken over arrangements. However we strongly feel that the mark of an excellent venue is not whether issues arise but whether they deal with them in a timely and effective way. They most certainly did. Darren was hired and we were blown away by his approach to customer service. When he sat down with us he really listened to our concerns and was completely solution led, to the point of revamping our entire menu (a special mention to Matt here, who produced outstanding and beautifully presented food) and giving us the freedom to personalise our venue in our own way, to avoid the 'hotel wedding' feel. Darren headed up a friendly and hospitable staff for the whole day and nothing was too much trouble. We had great feedback on the venue as a whole - most of our guests stayed over and were perfectly happy with the size, cleanliness and facilities of their rooms. At the end of it all we are glad we chose Hawkwell to host our wedding.
ps. The honeymoon suite is incredible!
Fantastic winter wedding

Myself and my husband got married at Hawkwell House in December 2012 and we are still receiving comments from guests saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to.
We organised it in just ten weeks and the wedding planners Gary and Georgina were a huge help in making that happen smoothly and pretty much stress-free. They were both available when we needed them and helped us to cover off everything we needed to consider. On the day of the wedding, Gary was supremely calm, in control and reassuring. He made sure everything ran like clockwork and was helpful without being intrusive. All the staff were polite and helpful all day.
I stayed over the night before the wedding and the room was comfortable - the honeymoon room is a bit more special with a big, circular jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was good - they even laid on a private buffet breakfast for all the wedding guests the morning after the wedding. We had loads of compliments on the food served at the reception - the quality and portion size was excellent.
We booked a wedding package but added extra guests. Gary was very helpful in assisting us with tweaking the package to allow for extra guests and us to have our own florist etc. He gave very good advice at all times. The Big Disco that came as part of the package was really fantastic - amazing lazers/lighting and tunes all agreed with the DJ beforehand by emailing him a playlist.
The ceremony room itself was cosy and tastefully decorated for Christmas. We were lucky with the weather and had pictures outside in the pretty grounds.
Thank you Gary and Georgina for a perfect day!

We had our wedding reception here in November and have nothing but praise for the staff, the wedding reception venue areas, the food and the rooms. From the initial planning meeting with Gary, the wedding co-ordinator, we were put at ease in the confidence that everything would be organised to what we would describe as a five star standard.
Nothing seemed a problem or too much trouble to plan our wedding to our requirements .Every detail you could think of to include in your wedding reception was presented to us with ideas and choices of things we could do.
The whole experience from the first contact with the hotel to the planning, the reception, the following morning with a family breakfast and any contact after has been faultless with professionalism, experience and fantastic hospitality. We had so many comments from our guests about how smoothly the day ran, the food being delicious, the staff being so helpful and approachable and how relaxed the atmosphere was.
We can’t recommend this hotel enough as a wedding venue and also as a fantastic family friendly place to stay.
Words can’t say how happy we and all our family and friends were with the venue and we can’t thank all the staff enough for making our day such a special and memorable experience. Thank you!
Fantastic New Years Eve Wedding!

Just had the best wedding ever. Venue was perfect, everything went well and the food was fantastic. Gary did a brilliant job in organizing the event and was really helpful with us putting our decorations in the room. Would definitely recommend it as both a wedding venue and hotel.
What an amazing day

We all had the most fantastic day, the food was fab, the service was excellent - especially Gary the wedding co-ordinator, he was absolutely brilliant and nothing was to much trouble, which in turn meant that the day went smoothly and we didn't have to worry about anything else than enjoying ourselves! Can't rate it highly enough.

Our wedding was all I could have hoped for and more. The venue was stunning and we received so many compliments from our guests. In particular our wedding planner, Gary, was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and he really helped me just relax and enjoy the day. Would definitely recommend Gary and the venue to future brides!!

My husband and i got married at Hawkwell House In May 2009. It''s a superb venue for a wedding, the Thames Suite is very large whith a big dancefloor and as we had a large number of guests this was perfect. The grounds are beautiful for both the photographs and for guests to mingle. Erin the wedding co-ordinator is first class, from day one she replied to every email and phone call that i made. She was accomodating in every aspect, such as candles, chair covers and even a sweet bar! The complimenetary Disco was also fabulous as i sent them a long list of songs that we wanted for the evening including some irish ones and they played everything we asked for. They also only played when we asked them to as we hired a band and all the staff helped this be arranged, everyone was just fantastic i really cannot emphasise this enough. The food was also of a very good standard and we had vegetarians and gluten free meals that were arranged with no trouble at all. Hawkwell House is a five minute cab ride from Oxford City Centre which is what we were looking for but is also set in iffley village which looks the part despite being so close and with such a top class service from the staff we really couldn''t ask for more.
