I cannot recommend this venue enough! They go above and beyond for you and our day went so perfectly because of them! I have watched haigh hall turn from a run down building into such a beautiful place and we couldn’t have picked anywhere better to have our wedding. Sarah was amazing, Jamie Leigh made sure shaun was looked after the night before our wedding and all the staff did everything they could to make sure we had the best day of our lives. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and that couldn’t have been possible for if it weren’t for the amazing staff at haigh hall! Thank you so much for everything and we will definitely be back soon to stay in that honeymoon suite again.

Myself and my now wife had our wedding here and cannot recommend this place enough, we got scared of previous bad reviews, but honestly the staff were absolutely fantastic and our day was more than perfect. We'll certainly always remember it as a perfect venue and cannot thank the staff enough! Sarah and Sam deserve a medal :)

As mother of the bride I can't express how grateful I was for the friendliness and care shown by the staff here, both in the lead up, but especially on the day. This is a team that cares and becomes family on the day, thank you and as for the venue.. just wow! So many wonderful memories, special thanks to "the butler" too!

I honestly cannot rate this place highly enough. We booked our wedding over 2 years ago and during that time we have watched it turn from a tired old building into the most beautiful venue. Every single one of our guests loved it and commented on what an amazing place it is. The bedrooms are stunning and all of us who stayed over didn't want to leave! The staff worked tirelessly throughout our wedding day and they all went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They worked closely with our other suppliers to make sure everything and everyone was where it should be and it could not have been a more perfect day. The food and drinks were great, including the children's and vegetarian options, it was served quickly and was all delicious! I'd like to give a special mention to Sarah and Leah who are an absolute credit to the hotel. We have driven them mad with questions and requests in the run up to our wedding but absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou so much for making our wedding day so perfect in a venue that is very very special to us as a family. We will most definitely be back! Much love, the O'Farrells!

We were married at haigh hall just over a week ago and it was honestly the best day, the wedding coordinator sarah was fantastic. The venue is stunning, the food was delicious and the day ran smoothly. Everyone had the best day and the pictures we have had back so far are stunning with all the beautiful views across the golf course and on the staircase inside the venue.

What an experience!!!!
Got married here on 28th April and it was the most surreal experience. All the staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable.
The staff on the wedding day looked very smart and professional, and did service with a smile. Food was absolutely delicious, everybody said so and the vegan and vegetarians were happy with what they had.
One of the bar tops have not been finished yet so it is a glittery cloth over the bar but still looks lovely. Yes drinks are a little more expensive than what you would pay for at your local but what do you expect when it's a wedding!
We also stayed over for two nights, again all the staff could not do enough for you, they must have been sick of us calling for room service but not once did they grumble.
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. And an extra massive thank you to Sarah who made the whole experience as easy and stress free as possible. Thank you thank you from the new Mr & Mrs Ward!!!! Xxx

Got married at the hotel 6 months back and it was one of the best days of my life. The staff blended perfectly in the background, the food was up there with some of the best wedding food I've had and the wedding planner Sarah couldn't have done enough for us. I highly recommend!!!

We had our wedding here on Sunday 17th September. Well, what can we say.. It was amazing from start to finish. The ground floor ballroom, bar and reception area are stunning and have been done to a high standard, keeping a lot of the old features. The food was outstanding! 5* to Justin, Cavan and all the kitchen team, well done! Could we have some more beef please! To Leah, Lisa, and Sam, a huge thank you! You all helped to make our day magical and nothing was too much trouble. Haigh Hall hotel, you did us proud. Love the new Mr and Mrs Currie.

My parter and I had our Wedding here at the end of July and absolutely loved it.
The day for us was just perfect.
We loved being driven up the drive to the stunning view of Haigh Hall and being met by our Wedding planner with a lovely glass of Champagne.
The outside terrace has a stunning view and a perfect place to enjoy your welcome drinks.
The food at the wedding breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly. The room looked stunning during the day and night. The late bar also ensured our guests could boogy the night away!
Special thanks to our Wedding Coordinator Sarah for ensuring the day was stress free and ensuring we were well looked after.
Good value for money

We had our wedding reception in the Douglas Suite last September. Being Council owned the price was good, but some areas of the Hall are very institutional looking. The food was brilliant and guests still talk of the best Lamb Shank they have had. The down sides of this venue are that 2 weddings are booked on the same day. We ended up trying to get our photos done at the same time as the other wedding, and it was left to the photographers to try and coordinate guests rather than anyone from Haigh Hall. Needless to say we didn''t get all the shots we wanted. We also had a problem with our hurricane lamp centre piece, candle holders and Molten Brown products from the toilets going missing before we arrived the next day to collect them. Leaving us with less than fond memories of our special day.

Based in a country park Haigh Hall is stunning with views of wigan and has opportunities for both small and larger weddings. Opting for the small means you hire out the douglas suite with its own private bar, lounge room, civil room and reception and dance floor. The larger gives you the ballroom and a reception room. Spoke to Colin who informed us that all you need to do is eat our food and drink our drink. Corkage is about a fiver and there are no rules on confetti or candles. There is flexibility with the menus. The staff were great and took us a complete tour including the history of the house and the old dungeons, great for kids! Although two weddings can take place there at the same time I can't see how they could interfere with one another. Prices are slightly less than the going rate and the photo opportunities are endless in this big lovely old fashioned venue.
