We had such a great day there, even when the weather did not go to plan, it was a really lovely evening. My guests praised how beautiful it was. The wedding coordinators at the venue were extremely helpful in answering all my queries during the process. Especially my Dad who nipped out part way through our meal to thank Christine and leave a huge tip for all the staff!! The staff on the day helped the wedding and reception run perfectly. From setting up the Swan centre to bringing our drinks reception outside as the sun came out. We especially want to thank the serving staff and bar staff from the day who worked really hard serving our food, keeping our water jugs topped up and generally looking after Colin and I as well as all our guests. We have received great feedback on the food. Guests thought the lamb shank was delicious and were really impressed with the quality and presentation. The same was said for our evening buffet. From the moment of booking to the morning after the big day we were looked after. I can not fault one area of the whole experience with Gilwell, the staff were exceptional, the house and grounds stunning. Every request was granted, even the small things were seen to promptly. All our guest loved the venue, and the children loved to play on the lawn at the front, where adults could see them and be able to relax and enjoy the day themselves. Myself and my bridesmaids stayed the night before and had a lovely time walking around the grounds the morning of the wedding, perfect to calm nerves!! The bridal suite was lovely, myself and my husband were impressed, we have stayed in nany 5* hotels and Gilwell did not disappoint. Wedding dinner was scrumptious, one disappointment is I didn’t get to eat my sticky toffee pudding, argh speeches, four months later still gutted about that, although good excuse to go back for a meal on date night and a stroll around the gorgeous grounds. I would totally recommend Gilwell Park for your wedding, all you could possibly wish for on your special day, beautiful grounds for pictures, gorgeous house and a fantastic price tag.
