The overall support and how everything was orchestrated on the day was outstanding. Our guests were impressed with the food and that’s saying something since majority of them work in the industry themselves. We had an amazing time and thank you so so much.

Huge thank you to Emma and David who kept the day running smoothly. Thanks also to all the waiting staff who did a great job.

I was a bridesmaid for one of my best freinds at her wedding. I was not party to her discussions with the hotel prior to the wedding and can therefore only comment on my experience as her bridesmaid and of what I encountered on the day. I arrived on the day of the wedding to find the bride and her mother in dispute with the reception staff. They had understood that we would have a room in which to get ready. The room given was one of the conference rooms. It was filled with chairs and had no mirrors or facilities for a group of women, who were getting ready for an important day. The groom and his party were also initially based on the same floor as the bride, which caused her distress as she did not want to be seen. As a 'Weddings' hotel- I was shocked at the fact that the room was so inappropriate and at the lack of consideration. Mirror and tables were bought in- but this should have been done prior to our arrival. Worst of all,my friend had expected some sense of occasion on her big day- it was an opportunity to make her feel special and instead she was stressed by the poor treatment and facilities. We were told that we would have use of the room all day and that it would be locked with our things inside. At about 23:15 pm , we caught a member of staff preparing to let himself into our room and abrupty told us that the room needed to be cleared in 15 minutes to make way for it to be used the next morning. His tone was abrupt and considering the reception was not yet over- it seemed an extraordinary request!

This wedding venue is simply beautiful. My wedding was amazing, organised and not stressful. The events organisers would bend of backwards to provide us with what we needed. The staff catering the wedding breakfast were professional and very helpful. The location is perfect especially for the photos. Overall my day was the best ever and that was thanks to Devonport House.

Thank you!!

Now that we’re back from our honeymoon and just about settled into real life again, we wanted to write and thank you and all the staff who helped make our wedding day fantastic. Put simply, it was nigh-on perfect; we and our guests had a fantastic day which we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. At the risk of opening a catalogue of superlatives, everything went just as well as we could have hoped - the room looked fantastic for the ceremony, the guests were well looked-after waiting for it, you and your colleagues were always on-hand whenever anything was needed. Everyone was well-served with drinks and canapés (which were all extremely good) after the ceremony and it just fuelled a wonderfully happy, positive feeling on the day. Everyone was also extremely pleased with the wedding breakfast, both the speed with which it was served and the quality of the food. Numerous guests commented to us (both on the day and afterwards) on their surprise at being served with genuinely good food at a wedding. . Finally, the room we had for the night was extremely pleasant and comfortable, and we greatly appreciated both the chocolates and champagne left for us. Equally, the breakfast in the morning was excellent and (coupled with the coffee and the friendliness, energy and enthusiasm of the staff) just what we needed to recharge us in the morning. In conclusion, your team and the venue did us proud (and we’ve already cheerfully recommended you to friends for a future event). We’d be extremely grateful if you could pass our fullest thanks onto everyone who helped make the day quite such an immense success.

Thank you!

Thanks for organizing the reception dinner. It went really smoothly and the feedback from guests have all been good. > Guests felt welcomed upon arrival > The items were prepared as we expected and the cakes were displayed. > Timing of the evening was good, we were on schedule most of the time. > Food was fresh and tasty > You helped to accommodate some last minute changes such as the meal for the photographers which is appreciated. > Staff were very friendly and helpful > Champagne and treats in the wedding suite were a nice touch! > You did a good job setting up the dance floor in 20mins!

Wedding at Devonport House

We got married in the De Vere Devonport House Hotel, which proved an excellent choice. We were able to have the relatively small wedding we desired of just under 35 people, with the ceremony in the wood panelled Churchill Room, and the reception in the Drake Room, both of these rooms perfectly suited our numbers. Greta (the Hotel's wedding co-ordinator) was very helpful in planning things in advance, and was there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. In the evening Greta handed over to the food service manager who was also great. The weather turned out to be bad on our wedding day but fortunately there were places to get nice photographs inside the hotel. All staff were great, both friendly and professional throughout the event. We went for the Platinum package as it looked as if it included almost everything for a wonderful day, including among other things welcome drinks and canapés, and an evening buffet as well as the main wedding meal. The evening buffet was particularly well stocked, and the meal was excellent, We had a smoked salmon starter, a chicken bacon and mushroom main course, and a desert of crème brulee and raspberry sorbet. We had already tasted these in menu tasting the hotel provided as part of the package, so knew it would be excellent. We had also sampled the wines in advance, so knew those would be good too. The final great thing about a wedding at Devonport House is a free room for the bride and groom just upstairs from the wedding room. The room was well stocked with TV, dryer, ironing board and iron. A complementary bottle of champagne was left in our room for us, which was a nice touch. I would strongly recommend the Devonport House as a wedding

Amazing wedding at Devonport House

Our November Wedding at Devonport House was a memorable day! Our experience has been a very positive one, from the day when we made our first inquiry and had a thorough tour at the venue, throughout the preparation time building up to our special day and of course, during the wedding day itself, when we were very looked after, everything run smoothly and our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed the day! Greta, the wedding organiser, has provided us with excellent support, always being prompt at communication and available and helpful for everything we needed! Tim, the hotel manager, has been an excellent host as well, being very familiar with the special 'momentum' of a wedding day (he was even so kind to provide the bride with a tissue for those sensitive tears during the wedding speeches!) :-) We thank you both so much! Devonport House is a unique, picturesque venue for a wedding day at the heart of Greenwich. It offers the convenient option of having both a wedding ceremony and reception in the same venue, with excellent service, delicious food, beautiful indoor and outdoor surroundings, easy transport access and a team of staff who are exceptional for their professionalism and hospitality. We highly recommend Devonport House, Greenwich, for your Wedding Day!

Just wanted to thank you for all your services on our Wedding day. The room looked beautiful for the ceremony and stunning for lunch. The food was delicious (thank you Chef) and delivered with minimum fuss. Your efforts were very much appreciated by both of us, our day felt very special!
