Mr & Mrs Wright!

We knew Creeksea would be the venue for us when we first happened to see pictures of the Manor and grounds online some years ago. From the moment we arrived for our appointment to meet with Claire who was helpful, friendly and flexible to try and make our day exactly as we wanted it. We kept in contact with Claire for any questions and checking ideas until we were allocated Carly as our coordinator. Carly was absolutely wonderful, answering texts and calls whenever things came up and reassured us to no end about the weather! Carly’s knowledge of the venue and talking to us, helped plan a really good day and we were so well taken care of by the team at Creeksea who linked in with our vendors so seamlessly.

We had never seen the venue in summer/sunlight before our wedding day and we were absolutely blown away with how gorgeous Creeksea is. Everything tied together and Carly kept us both so calm and relaxed throughout. Every guest we spoke to commented on how beautiful the venue is and how everything was just perfect, with one person asking “can you do this every week?”. If we could, we would. We cannot thank everyone enough and will remember the day forever.
Thank you again.

Wedding review 23/06/2023

Wow !!!! Everything was absolutely gorgeous the grounds , the bridal cottage, the exquisite Manor House. Every expectation was met by Claire, Michelle And of course John Paul . The planning was spot on and we’ll taken care of . We asked lots and lots and lots of questions and everything was answered. All recommendations from food to fireworks to dj flowers and balloons all were exceptional. The team at Creeksea really do go above and beyond. We could not recommend any higher than we do . They worked within our budget and delivered everything to the T with all our requests. A truly beautiful location and absolutely lovely team , if there was a fairytale godmother for weddings Creeksea is it !!! Love Emma and Grant Wylde

Creeksea is quite simply the hidden gem in Essex!

From the very first viewing back in October 2018 to our big day in July 2022 Claire and her team at Creeksea have been fantastic. Claire is always a text, call or email away and responds promptly and answers any pending questions and resolves any concerns straight away. Due to the pandemic our wedding changed dates 3 times! Claire was very understanding and never asked for extra money for pushing back the date multiple times as we simply could not have had the 150 people wedding we had been planning under the restrictions between 2020-2021. We finally did have our BIG day on Saturday 2nd July 2022 and it was perfect!
We really felt like Claire cared about our day and she even dropped by on our day when it was her day off which was really sweet. We were Creeksea's longest awaiting Mr & Mrs due to the pandemic from when booking to actually having our big day.
The supplier's booked through Creeksea were all amazing too. Shout out to Angie at Limeberry Events (caterers) who were lovely! With the date change multiple times she kept to the original quote price and we didn't feel stitched up. She even organised for her Bar Manager at the Restaurant they operate from to meet us at our Church (which was opposite the restaurant) with two glasses of prosecco before we headed off in our wedding car to our reception venue at Creeksea. This was a lovely touch! And when we arrived for the canapes she kept a few canape options to one side for us to eat before they were all gone. She really did go above and beyond. Thank you Angie!
Ian and James the House DJs and Love Letters suppliers were fab too. Music was brilliant and the dance floor was busy all night!
The waiter staff who helped bring the food out were very polite and great too. So were the bar staff!
We were even allowed to bring in our own boxes of crisps and sweets from Costco and leave at the side of the bar in the evening which was a great hit!
In terms of value for money we gave a 4* but that is only because of the insurance policy Creeksea have in place where if you want to invite children to your wedding you have to use a Nanny service. We had 15 children (incl 5 babies) at the wedding and all of whom were immediate family or neices and nephews (so how could you not invite them!) and the cost for the nanny service was £490 for 1x Snr and 1x Jnr Nanny. We appreciate the man made lake at the bottom of the back lawn isn't gated off but the Nanny's (who were new to Creeksea) didn't seem like they had been qualified for long. They seemed overwhelmed parent guests were saying and tried to keep to watching 2-3 kids at a time. My husband (The Groom) took our 1 year old who was asleep in the pram to the Snr Nanny and asked when the baby woke to come and find him and he'd take over. Apparently the Nanny stared at him blankly and said, 'how will I find you?' and his response was 'i'll be next to Sacha.' She looked a bit flush by the comment and to be honest she should be. We had only met the two nanny's a month before our big day for the final meeting so she would have remembered his face at least and perhaps not his name. We just thought this was a bit unprofessional but not necessarily a bad reflection on Creeksea. We just don't see the point in the Nanny service and feel that perhaps Creeksea should just say they are a child-free venue if that is their real motive to put a Nanny service in place in the first instance.
On another note, I didn't notice as I was using the house disabled loo but guests informed us that the port-a-loos didn't work all the time throughout the day. Not sure if its a plumbing error but with 150 people sharing 3 loo's it can be carnage!
Additionally, the weather was sunny with a bit of cloud and averaged 23 degrees. As we were using the Marquee for the wedding breakfast due to our large number of guests we found that the space was used really well! The only down side was the top table being placed to the right of the marquee as you walk into it as the sun was beating down on our backs and I (the bride) fell ill with heat stroke. I only had a chance to eat my starter before I fell ill. probably due to being overwhelmed too to be fair but Megan (our coordinator for the day) did her best in providing electric fans for the top table but it did seem like a more permanent A/C machine would have been a good purchase for Creeksea considering it is currently a Summer Wedding Venue only. Due to me feeling unwell the caterers delayed the mains which did delay the reception start time by an hour (which didn't matter too much) but also meant our couples photos were delayed and we started to lose the light for our photos which was a shame. But aside from that the owner also went above and beyond and drove into the local town to buy me some lucasade and after drinking that I felt much better. The rest of the day ran smoothly. The coordinators helped move all of our items, flowers, card post box and presents into the bridal cottage before the night ended which really helped so we could just go to bed and relax after such a long day. The continental breakfast was just what we needed too. A really comfortable beg and nights stay, with decor in keeping with the Tudor era. We thought the bathroom in the bridal cottage could do with a revamp though. I hope there doesn't seem like too many negatives on here but the day truly was amazing and we are so grateful to Creeksea for allowing us to have a big day there. Our last bit of advice to couples is that, our wedding was quite early - 12pm in Chelmsford and then welcome drinks from 2pm and last song played at 12.30am (as we paid for late licence). If you have a 12-2pm wedding on site, don't worry about a late licence. Especially if your guest numbers are less than 150! Half our guests left by 11.30/12 and the last 30 mins of the night had about 20 people in the marquee. I would save that £500 for that extra hour if we could do it all again. Hope this review helps Creeksea gain more bookings and also helps couples with some decisions they will need to make once booked. We look forward to visiting Creeksea one day soon for an afternoon tea! Perhaps our One Year Anniversary! Love, Sacha & Luke Murphy x

Our wedding

We got married at creeksea place at the end of July. We had the most amazing day!
The venue is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are amazing. With 3 different places outside to marry you are spoilt for choice it’s so hard to pick what part as all are stunning!
The creeksea team are such a good helpful bunch. As this was my first time planning a wedding I wasn’t really sure what I was doing but they were always at the end of a phone call or email they were so helpful. The caterers that they work with are also very good. Food was lovely all our guests commented on it. And the DJ that was supplied through creeksea was great.
The wedding packages they do are very handy because most of the things you need to plan a wedding is included in there package e.g food, Dj etc. our day went so smoothly it was amazing a day to remember. If anyone wants a summer garden wedding this is definitely the place to go!
I always wanted a garden wedding with a beautiful marquee and that’s exactly what creeksea gave me!

Beautiful Gem of a place with exceptional Staff

My Husband and l absolutely fell in love with this wedding venue the 1st time we visited there. Its a stunning venue and truly is a hidden gem and brings happy emotions every time I see it. To top off such a stunning venue. I have to send massive compliments to all the staff. They make Creeksea extra special. From the day we put a deposit down to book our special day, until after our wedding day the Management have been the other end of the phone whenever we needed them, day or night. On the day every single staff member was on point they were attentive, friendly and almost felt like family.
Being an older couple in our 40's we booked a twighlight wedding package which was great value for money. This included street food which all our guests and us absolutely loved was so tasty and worth the money. Even the DJ was great that came as part of the package. He was in contact prior to our big day and tailored the music exactly to our preferences. We did spend more on some optional extras, like drink packages, lanterns etc but all still within our budget.
The best wedding venue by far around in my opinion and my guests couldn't believe how great Creeksea was too.
We definitely be re visiting at some point for a stay out of wedding season.
5 star + venue by far.

An unforgettable place!

We instantly knew we were going to book Creeksea when we stepped through the entrance gates. A beautiful Tudor red brick building which felt hidden amongst tall enveloping trees. The perfect setting for our English fairytale wedding! Moving into the orchard we were again blown away by the intimate peaceful nature of this venue with rabbits wondering the grounds and the simple sound of birdsong to keep us company. In the lead up to our day Carly, Claire and the rest of the team couldn’t do enough for us. Responding to questions so quickly and giving us their experienced advice which meant we got the most out of our day. They were also very accommodating with requests such as including a ring warming ceremony (which we decided on three days before the wedding day!) and an outdoor sparkler last dance under their fairy-lit trees, a standout highlight from our day! We were originally drawn to Creeksea for its stunning natural beauty but now see the true gem of this place are the people that work there. We can’t wait to return for future anniversaries and already feel a part of the Creeksea family.

Gracious, individualised and flexible

We planned a last minute lockdown wedding in 20 days. From the start, Claire took the time to understand our needs and values. She kept us up-to-date with any developments, and asked all the important detail questions. She and her team were very gracious on the day, flexible to changes in the weather (!) and took the trouble to treat us as individuals. As a nontraditional couple, we were quite anxious about the whole process and deeply appreciated this. Our celebration of marriage in The Orchard was intimate, authentic and magical. We loved being surrounded by the natural world, lush gardens and quirky statues. A very special place.
