Dream wedding in 10 days!
Venue Service

By Tim and Jo, on 20 Apr 2019Date of Wedding - 13 Apr 2019

Dream wedding in 10 days! Cote How is not just an idyllic, historic home, in beautiful grounds set on the edge of Rydal Water in The Lake District National Park but Caroline and Steve have made it into a perfect wedding venue. Their enthusiasm, attention to detail, organisational skills and obvious love for their career gave us an unforgettable wedding day. We live in the Lake District and had walked and cycled past Cote How on numerous occasions, early this year we visited and decided to get married in September in the Barn. However, due to my recent diagnosis, the wedding had to be brought forward and with Caroline’s help everything was organised in just ten days and we were married on 13th April, 4 days before I started chemotherapy. We had just 22 guests, an intimate ceremony in the Fairfield room, canapés on the terrace and a beautiful meal, flowers, and photographer. It was perfect. We both felt totally relaxed throughout the day able to chat to our guests and enjoy our surroundings in the sunshine. This would not have been possible without Caroline and Stevens friendship and support. They even helped us decorate our tandem to perfection. Thank you for a great day.

An idyllic situation in the Lake District creates the perfect setting for a special occasion. Cote How is a beautiful venue for a small intimate occasion with a special ambience created by Caroline and Steve. The house is beautifully decorated and feels like a home. From the very first planning meeting, they made us feel comfortable and, most importantly, we were listened to. Attention to even the smallest detail was delivered. We could not have asked for more. 5 stars are not sufficient!

We couldn't have chosen a better venue. Cote how is a warm, welcoming and intimate venue; Jaedon and I felt right at home with our guests on our special day. Caroline and Steve made the day easy, seamless and stress-free. They guided us on all things, big and small. Caroline has an attention to detail and delighted us with all the final touches to the decor - we didn't have to worry about a thing!

As a wedding photographer I travel across the North West photographing weddings. Cote How is one of my favourite venues to work at. Not just because it's absolutely beautiful inside and out but because Caroline and Steve go above and beyond to make every couple feel welcome. If you're on the hunt for the perfect intimate wedding venue in the Lakes then Cote How has to be on your list.

Calm to the storm

We had planned to get married outside but unfortunately due to the UK catching the back end of a US storm a few days before our big day, things had to change! Thankfully, we had the choice of getting married inside the house or the barn, we opted for the latter. The barn was decorated beautifully, and also, heated up for us! Literally everything was just how we wanted and I will be forever thankful for the cup of tea Caroline made me before the ceremony. As a hotel manager myself, who runs weddings week in, week out and have done for the last 5/6 years, I can't help but notice how other places do things and I have to say that Cote How more than surpassed my expectations.

I love Cote How weddings. Caroline and Steve are so welcoming and easy to work with - nothing's too much trouble. The setting is stunning with Rydal Water close by and the house, barn and gardens are all fabulously maintained. The perfect place for an informal, relaxed Lake District wedding!

Wedding in the heart of the Lake district
Venue Service

By David Freeman and Janet Finney, on 30 Nov 2018Date of Wedding - 07 Aug 2018

Janet and I were looking for an intimate wedding venue that could cater for 40 or so guests, as soon as we visited Caroline & Steve at Cote How we knew it was the location for us. The house and Barn are beautiful and the backdrop is simply stunning. Caroline made what can be a daunting process of organising a wedding as straight forward as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and our wedding day was tailored to our wishes (as opposed to fitting into a more corporate approach). If you are looking for a venue that is a little bit different and a ceremony that your guests will remember for a long time, then I would definitely recommend Cote How.
