Claudia & Niall’s Wedding Day
Venue Service

By Laura Snow, on 30 Sep 2015

Saturday 22nd August was the wedding of Claudia and Niall. A gorgeous sunny day with flowers everywhere! They had 50 guests in the day and an extra 20 at night, beautiful pink and floral bunting lined the marquee with large floral candle displays for centre pieces. Some lovely homemade touches and a beef dinner was a great start to a lovely evening filled with family and friends.

Steph & Chris’s Wedding Day

By Laura Snow, on 30 Sep 2015

Saturday 15th August saw the beautiful wedding of Steph and Chris, with almost 80 day guests and 120 at night, it was a wedding full of family and friends combined. With a beautiful handmade cork table plan from the groom, some lovely bright sunflowers on the tables and a personalised wedding cake! A choreographed first dance from the new Mr&Mrs was the perfect way to start the party for the evening.

Emma & Paul's Wedding Day
Venue Service

By Laura Snow, on 10 Aug 2015

Saturday 8th August saw the wedding of Emma and Paul. With 76 guests during the day and 110 for the evening, they opted for a beautiful marquee in the grounds. They had a neutral coloured beach theme wedding with gorgeous hurricane lamps as center pieces and hay bales as additional outdoor seating. The beautiful weather, live music and real ales were the finishing touches to an amazing day.

We got married here august 2012 so as its coming up to our 1st anniversary I remembered I'd not posted a review! In the run up to the wedding Sue the wedding coordinator was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble&she tried to accommodate our every need! Her calm approach was also helpful amidst wedding stress! The marquee was decorated perfectly&as I had imagined it. All our guests enjoyed their stay in the beautiful rooms. Food was lovely&drinks not overly priced. If u want a venue with an intimate, friendly feel then go to Cockliffe! I only wished we had longer there! The only thing I would suggest to Cockliffe is that many other venues will provide your table plan/menus for the tables for you if needed&although only a small thing it can take pressure off if you are trying to make these things yourself! Also it might be nice to put something extra special in the bridal suite just as a gesture. My mum&sister had decorated it without us knowing but had they not it would just have been a 'normal' room! All in all a truly special day made even more magical by this unique venue.

We had our ceremony and reception here in September. The hotel, setting, and service were perfect and the rooms are gorgeous! Sue the co-ordinator is a huge help and all the staff are really friendly, helpful and efficient. Everything went so smoothly, we couldn't have asked for more - our guests loved the venue and the food and we had the most amazing day.

Awesome venue

Our ceremony was at Papplewick Pumping Station just down the road, and we couldn't have hoped for a more perfect venue for the evening do irrespective of it being so close by - having exclusive use of the venue was wonderful, the staff were fantastic and the food was absolutely amazing - several hardened carnivores were enthralled by the steak. All of our little details were looked after - and it's an absolute credit to Sue and her team that we barely noticed the admin of the day - it seemed like an effortless evening do with our friends and family - Couldn't praise more highly

Lovely venue, great wedding day

We had our wedding reception at Cockliffe Country House. We had a fantastic day. The staff were attentive & professional, the food was great & the venue (rooms & grounds) was great for photos. In the build up to the wedding, the staff were approachable and tried to accommodate our wishes wherever possible. The bar closes at midnight which may be an issue for some couples although it wasn't for us.

We had our evening reception at Cockliffe after getting married abroad. Throughout the run up to the wedding reception Sue (the wedding coordinator) was always extremely helpful, answering all the questions I had. Cockliffe were happy to let us do our own thing in terms of decorations, layout and how the evening would pan out. They also designed a custom Italian style buffet for us at no extra cost. The evening ran without a hitch and all the staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. As well as all this, the bedrooms are fabulously decorated and all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay. To sum up it was a wonderful evening and we couldn't have asked for more!

We cannot praise Cockliffe Hotel enough. The location is perfect for a wedding, with great photo opportunities. The size of the hotel and the flexibility they give you for food and drink was exactly what we wanted for our small ceremony and breakfast and big party at night! The co-ordinator is very organised and will make you feel very confident that your wedding will run smoothly. Having the rooms there meant that we could carry the wedding through to the next morning with some of our guests. We are so pleased we chose Cockliffe as we do not think anywhere else could have provided us with the wedding we wanted, with the great service and beautiful surroundings.
