The grey and red sandstone Gothic-style Town Hall, with its tower and spire rising to a height of 160 feet was completed in 1869. Today, the building retains its Victorian magnificence and is a prestigious venue, available for public hire for weddings ceremonies and celebrations. The venue even incorporates a courtroom, a great backdrop for memorable photographs on your big day.
Since obtaining approval to hold Civil Marriage ceremonies, Chester Town Hall has become one of the most desirable venues in Cheshire, with many couples appreciating the attractive building’s façade and beautiful interior. The Victorian carved stone foyer and waiting hall with a sweeping staircase where guests can gather provides a rich colourful backdrop for photography, a reminder of a day poor weather cannot diminish.
Chester Town Hall offers four beautiful rooms, each licensed to hold civil ceremonies. Each stunning room can cater for every part of your day from 30 - 300 people making it one of the most popular Wedding Venues in the North West. All of our events are taken care of by our dedicated, expert in-house events and catering team.

We had the most perfect day
We had the most perfect day - we had high expectations of it being perfect and it exceeded those too. It's just starting to sink in a little bit now and it's quite an overwhelming and humbling feeling with the effort that everyone goes to ensure the day goes so well. I can't really thank you enough to be honest; from start to finish you have been so helpful and supportive and you actually made the planning of the biggest event of our lives so incredibly straightforward. I know this is your job so I hope that doesn't sound patronising, but I have friends who haven't always had such a positive wedding planning experience as we have. As soon as I walked into the Town Hall, I knew I wanted to get married there and it was a fabulous experience. Matthew's Canadian relatives were particularly enamoured by the venue.Sent on 18/02/2020
Many thanks once again,

My husband and I selected the Council Chamber Room at Chester Town Hall for our wedding ceremony in October 2019 and we could not be happier with the choice we made. Katie and the team at Horseradish were incredibly supportive and professional from the first meeting to view the venue, through to the day itself. Not only is Chester Town Hall a stunning venue, but the team made every effort to make our day personal to us. We were encouraged to use the space as we wished for photos, and as a result we have some fabulous confetti throwing shots on the sweeping stairwell and, of course, in the fantastic wooden thrones in the Council Chamber Room itself.Sent on 18/02/2020
On the day itself we received a very touching email from Katie wishing us all the best for our big day, and the team on hand went out of their way to look after us when, post the ceremony, it proceeded to rain heavily for 20 minutes. We were not rushed out of the building, but encouraged to wait until the weather had passed. You might expect a town hall venue to book weddings back-to-back, but it really felt like Chester Town Hall don’t over crowd their events calendar to make sure they take care of their guests.
We would highly recommend Chester Town Hall as a wedding venue. It ticked all the boxes for us and more!
Thanks so much again!
