Butchers’ Hall is a wedding venue in London, England. Tradition has it that the link between Smithfield and the Worshipful Company of Butchers goes back to 975 AD. A charter of incorporation was granted by King James I in 1605. Less than a century later, five of the company’s seven Halls were destroyed in the Great Fire of London. The Hall in Bartholomew Court suffered considerable damage during the First and Second World Wars. The Butchers, however, remained indomitable, and no obstacle or setback was so great as to be insurmountable. The current Hall was opened by the Bishop of London in 1960 and reopened in 2019 after a major refurbishment. Today, Butchers’ Hall offers a unique blend of first-class modern facilities and lovely and fascinating historical features. Here, you and your guests can be part of London’s remarkable history as you celebrate a day filled with moments you’ll remember and treasure forever.
