A breathtaking Grade II listed oak-beamed barn, Bartholomew Barn can be exclusively yours for your special day. Set in the beautiful countryside of West Sussex, close to the Hampshire and Surrey borders, this romantic venue is perfect for both lavish and intimate celebrations.
Tie the knot in the barn itself, with magnificent views over rolling countryside on one side and of the picturesque courtyard on the other. During summer months, invite your guests to sit outside, surrounded by the sweetly scented roses and clematis in the courtyard, while you say ‘I do’ in the pretty doorway of the barn. Couples looking for a religious ceremony may choose the local parish church in Kirdford, just a short drive away. Bartholomew Barn is perfect for weddings throughout the year – the warmth of the wonderful wood burner keeping the barn cosy during winter months, and the double doors letting the light and air flood in on a summer’s day.
Following your ceremony, you might choose to celebrate over drinks and canapés in the romantic walled courtyard, or on the vast front lawn – just the place for garden games and a summer party. When it comes to the wedding breakfast, many couples dine in the barn itself, soaking up the magical atmosphere and seating up to 100 while larger weddings can opt for a marquee on the front lawn, heading back to the barn for their evening party.
As the sun goes down, dance the night away in the barn, feast on a barbecue or hog roast from our open-sided barn in the courtyard, and enjoy the romantic lighting from fairy lights in the trees and around the oak beams.
At Bartholomew Barn, we want you to have your wedding, your way. We don’t have an in-house caterer and we don’t insist you use any of our recommended suppliers, but we are here to help with your planning and share our great list of contacts if you would like them. Summer or winter, rain or shine, formal or informal, intimate or grand… we know your wedding at Bartholomew Barn will be just… perfect!
