Lonan Country House & Gardens is an elopement wedding and luxury self-catering venue which is based in Taynuilt and is 13 miles from Oban, on the Western Coast of Scotland. Built in 1906, the house was designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and is a classic design from the period. Lonan House has a listed status and is surrounded by 27 acres of beautiful gardens, parts of which have been restored to their former glory. There are many different areas within the gardens that will support a bespoke ceremony. These could include:

1) Rhodedendrons – Areas that have developed into caverns and fully enclosed areas

2) Lochan – The water section has been developed to include two major bridges, both of which would support a small wedding. The area also benefits from wider views of mountains and woodland for scenic backdrops.

3) Woodland – Walkways have been developed so that people can access the denser woodland for scenic and beautiful locations for ceremonies

These areas and the newly developed Gazebo can support a wide range of guests. It is estimated that for a ceremony and reception only, it would be possible to accommodate up to 65 people. Utilising the luxury suites, the venue would accommodate up to 16 guests. The Gazebo is large enough, in the event of wet weather, to hold the ceremony with ease and then be set for a reception and dancing if required.

The entire grounds are full of a variety of wildlife that have at some stage been caught on camera. These include Deer, Pine Martins, Eagles, Red Squirrels, Otters, Herons, and its own Muscovy Ducks.
