"Wedding at Sopwell House"
This testimonial was entered by Ken Negus, Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies on 18 April 2019
Ken was an excellent Master of Ceremony. He was very professional from the outset by calling me prior to my wedding to run through the proceedings for the day and to find out the names of the key people in our wedding party and our set requirements for our wedding. Our wedding day had quite a few different parts to it that required our guests to be moved into different areas and he was excellent at making that happens without the bridal congregation feeling ordered about. He introduced each key person for their speeches beautifully and clearly and he felt very naturally like part of the wedding. Even though we hadn’t met him before. That is a very good skill to keep a bride calm and almost the most important role I would say for weddings! He needs a certain type of personality and he definitely had all the right qualities of calmness and capability.
He had a great balance of making himself present when needed and also being very discreet and letting the wedding flow. He helped me extensively communicating to our band and wedding venue when I wasn’t able to which meant I could relax and just enjoy my party.
I would highly recommend Ken for any event where you need that extra person to just bring everything together and not have to worry about the finer details of organisation on the day. I really enjoyed having him by our side and his friendly demeanour made him a credit to our wedding. I couldn’t have actually done it without him and so I will always be grateful for the part he played in our wedding.
I work in events myself and have my own company so it is hard to find people with excellent experience who I can trust. So he was a brilliant addition to the team.
He was very capable and confident and I felt straight away I could trust him. He took direction well but also helped to form some crucial decisions also regarding how the event flowed.
I would be very happy to give him a reference for whomever may need one.
Thanks Ken! You did a great job!
