For a great climate in May you can’t go wrong with Hawaii. Famous for honeymooners it is the famous land of the Hula and tropical flowers. You can choose from six unique islands for your stay. Alternatively you can hop from one to another and enjoy the fantastic beaches and vibrant culture. It is also a great idea to head off the beaten track and experience the beauty of Hawaii away from the hustle and bustle. The island has many historic sites and quiet beaches for you to explore.

For a honeymoon in May with a more Latino feel, Mexico has fantastic beaches along the southern tip of the country. With golden sands and warm blue seas, you can simply relax or try your hand at sea kayaking and windsurfing. The local historic Mayan culture is intriguing and the ruined temples and pyramids will astound you. Many of the resorts are “all inclusive” so you can sip a cocktail from a beach bar, enjoy a snack at the pool cafe or wine and dine in one of the resorts’ sumptuous restaurants without have to worry about carrying any money with you.

Safari honeymoons are becoming increasingly popular and there are not many better places than Botswana, in southern Africa. May is a good time for a honeymoon as temperatures are comfortable and the Okavango Delta is fuller, attracting more wildlife. Why not take a safari through the Chobe National Park, camp under the stars and experience their famous river safaris. You can also combine your safari with a trip to the magnificent Victoria Falls.

If you would like an exotic honeymoon that is off the beaten track then Mozambique, on the south east coast of Africa, is an up and coming destination. It is home to spectacular Indian Ocean coastline where you can swim in the warm seas and enjoy barbeques of freshly caught fish. Small islands that lie off the coast can be reached easily for an afternoon trip or a few nights’ stay. Mozambique is fantastic for snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing.
