Marvellous Mexico

COUPLE: Victoria and Jonathan

WEDDING DATE: 12th May 2012

HONEYMOON DESTINATION:
Cancun, Mexico

Steeped in history and exotic beauty, Mexico is a hot choice for honeymooners. From the warmth of the Mexican people to the heat of the idyllic Caribbean coast, Mexico is perfect if you want to combine sightseeing, lazy beach days and luxury.

Victoria says: “We went on honeymoon three days after the wedding and booked with Thomas Cook. We had an amazing time in a five star resort where everything was done for us. The accommodation was lovely, and we even had our own Jacuzzi. We chose Mexico because we could have relaxation and adventure — in one word it was AMAZING.”

Three of the best Mexican resorts:

Le Blanc Spa Resort, Cancun — located on a spectacular white sand beach with glorious views.

Matachica Resort and Spa, Belize — an award-winning beach resort considered the “hidden jewel” of Belize.

Villa Viva Vallarta and Villa Tesoro del Mar, Puerto Vallarta — a breathtakingly romantic setting, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

Captivated by a Cruise

COUPLE: Francesca and Barry

WEDDING DATE: 20th April 2012

HONEYMOON DESTINATION:
Mediterranean Cruise

Editor of hitched.co.uk, Francesca decided to experience a multi-destination honeymoon by taking a cruise around the Mediterranean. An ideal honeymoon if you want to experience culture, adventure and sunshine — but avoid any sort of long haul flight.

Francesca says: “We chose a cruise so we could experience several destinations on one holiday — on the equivalent of a hotel that moves. We sailed with Princess Cruises and visited Spain, Malta, Italy, Croatia, Corfu and Gibraltar; an experience that would have taken us years had we travelled to each location on separate holidays. Our romantic cruise was a once in a life time experience, filled with culture, romance and lots of fresh, sea air.”
