Deciding where to have your honeymoon is not only a big decision, it’s a fabulous one! No matter what your budget is, the world is your oyster thanks not only to the sheer volume of locations you can choose from, but also the different styles of honeymoon available.

Ultimate Seclusion

If you want to get away from it all, a honeymoon in the Maldives lets you celebrate your love in an intimate, secluded and utterly serene setting. Have a romantic dinner under the stars, go on a daring getaway to a nearby uninhabited island where you can be by yourselves for the whole day, or laze around in a private bungalow, overlooking the sea, while you are treated to an in-room spa treatment.

Ultimate seclusion

It’s not all lazing around, though: the warm seas of the Maldives create high visibility throughout the year, so when you do leave your lounger for a dip in the crystal clear water, you can see the passing fish as far as 50 metres away.

Couple Friendly

If you want to spend your honeymoon having some serious adult time, the idyllic Caribbean, with breathtaking beaches, friendly locals, stunning scenery and a laidback atmosphere, is an excellent choice.

Couple friendly

You could visit Antigua with its winding coastline and colonial chic, St. Lucia with its mountainous landscape and secluded coves, Barbados offers trend-setting restaurants, championship golf courses and buzzing nightlife, or how about Grenada — the spice island — where you can enjoy traditional Caribbean charm and share a peaceful retreat.

Sandals all-inclusive Caribbean honeymoons are completely dedicated to couples, offering luxurious accommodation, thrilling water sports and gourmet dining options. The honeymoon package also includes romantic extras including a bottle of chilled sparkling wine in your room upon your arrival, a special turndown service including flower petals on your bed on the first evening of your honeymoon and a delivery of fresh flowers and a decadent breakfast in bed on one morning of your choice.

Family Friendly

If you already have children, taking the kids along on your honeymoon is a lovely idea — they will have memories to treasure forever and you can start your married life as a family.

Family friendly

Portugal is a great family destination offering something for everyone (and romantic sunsets to enjoy together when the kids are tucked up in bed). Madeira offers excellent entertainment for all ages (as well as amazing scenery), Lisbon is steeped in history and culture, or visit Albufeira, one of the busiest seaside resorts in the Algarve, for a classic beach holiday. Water sports are very popular in Portugal, as is golf, and there are cycling opportunities throughout the country too.

Family friendly

Majorca is another great option for families. There are big beach resorts (Alcudia, Cala Major, Cala D’Or) with round the clock entertainment, or traditional fishing villages like Cala Figuera in the east, with white-painted houses reaching down to the water’s edge and a picturesque harbour.

Young and Funky

If you’re looking for a hip, fun and fashionable honeymoon, consider a hot destination like Ibiza — or if you want to travel farther afield try Miami, Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Known for its vibrant clubbing scene, beautiful Ibiza also offers amazing spas, unspoiled beaches and great diving. From top notch cocktails to chic shopping in Ibiza Town, Ibiza offers honeymooners a great mix of party atmosphere and romance.

Young and funky

In Miami, it’s all about the dining and nightlife. Sample authentic Latin American cuisine, try a farm-to-table restaurant or check out the lip-smackingly great food prepared by some of the States’ most celebrated and experimental young chefs. By night, there’s a thriving bar and lounge scene as well as Miami’s famous high-energy nightclubs where you can dance through the night.

And if you fancy a fashionable road trip, why not fly to LA and then drive to Las Vegas. As well as enjoying some exhilarating scenery as you drive across the desert, you’ll also spend time in two of the world’s coolest cities.

Second Time Around

If this is your second marriage, you might want a different, less traditional kind of honeymoon. A city-based break to a fabulous international capital could be just the ticket.

Second time around

New York is a great city for grown-ups and what better way to celebrate your nuptials than catching a new show on Broadway (or watching a baseball game at the Yankee Stadium), seeing Lady Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry (which is absolutely free to ride) and enjoying world class dining (not forgetting the famous Magnolia cupcakes you can sample in the heart of the West Village).

Accommodation choices are limitless in New York. You could go for boutique chic, rent an apartment to get the feeling of really living in the city or go for old school glamour at the New York Plaza, a hotel that is as famous for its film and television appearances (from Barefoot in the Park and Sleepless in Seattle, to Sex and the City and the Great Gatsby) as it is for its luxurious accommodation. You’ll feel like movie stars if you honeymoon here.
