The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were said to be the reason behind the October wedding date. The date was chosen to fit in with the newlyweds busy schedule as Prince Harry – who’s very close to Eugenie – was determined to attend.

The couple met in February 2010, when Eugenie was just 19, during a ski holiday in the Swiss resort of Verbier to celebrate her father’s 50th birthday. They continued a long distance relationship while Jack lived in London and Eugenie moved to New York briefly for her career.

Jack popped the question in January 2018 during a holiday to Nicaragua.

In an interview with Vogue, Eugenie revealed she isn’t stressed at all about the fast-approaching nuptials.

“I’m not stressed at all. It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realise that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters,” she said.

The couple are set to marry at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. It’s the same venue as her cousin Harry but no doubt the young royal will put her own mark on celebrations. (Psst, if you’re curious about how to make a venue ‘your own’ if someone you know is marrying there too, we spoke to the experts!)

Eugenie has already hinted that their decor will be very different to Harry and Meghan’s. In an interview with Vogue, she revealed she’s planning on making the entire day plastic-free.

“It’s been eye-opening. My whole house is anti-plastic now – and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well,” she said. If you’re interested in an eco-friendly wedding like Eugenie, we’ve got lots of tips for that too.

Eugenie also revealed she’s been compiling Pinterest boards of wedding cakes – will she have a showstopper like Harry’s lemon and elderflower three-tier extravaganza we wonder?

Like Harry and Meghan, Princess Eugenie and Jack are inviting members of the public into the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch the wedding. A lucky 1,200 members of the public were able to apply via ballot for one of the spots, but if you didn’t get a ticket, the couple will also be doing a carriage tour of Windsor.

The chosen guests will watch the guests arrive and see a live broadcast of the service.

News of the engagement was announced in January 2018 through Buckingham Palace and the couple posed for an official engagement photo that showed off her huge padparadscha sapphire ring.

Her ring features a halo of diamonds surrounding the rare coral pink-coloured sapphire, set in a gold band. Named after a lotus flower from Sri Lanka, the gems are coveted for their unique colour and rarity.

Jack and Eugenie designed the ring together after he proposed. He told the BBC, “Why I loved it so much is it changes colour from every different angle that you look at it, which is what I think of Eugenie. She changes colour, and it’s just so amazing.”

Princess Eugenie is known as quite fashion-forward among the royals and regularly picks bold colours and designs. Will she do the same with her wedding dress?

She favours the British brand Erdem and wore their £1,288 floral ‘Hetty’ dress in her official engagement photos. Bookies Ladbrokes have Erdem in poll position with odds of 7/2 as she’s already revealed she’s chosen a British-based designer.

Vivienne Westwood could also be in the running for her dress designer. Eugenie wore a blue floral dress by Westwood to William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 and has opted for the iconic British designer a few times since at high profile events.

Fashion guru Gok Wan told Hitched he has his money on Westwood. “Princess Eugenie is slightly left of centre with her designs, she pushes the boundaries a bit more,” he said. “She’s not first or second in line to the throne so has more licence and her team have more licence to be a bit wackier. I suspect it might be a Vivienne Westwood dress; there’ll be some disconnected tailoring and a lot of detailing.

Another contender is Alberta Ferretti. She chose a blush pink tulle dress by the Italian designer for her cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine in 2016 (although in another photo from the shoot she wears her favourite Erdem dress).

However, it’s unlikely she will opt for anything other than British. Jenny Packham, Preen and Suzannah are other popular predictions.

She stepped out to Harry and Meghan’s wedding in a light blue dress by British label Gainsbourg – a bespoke brand founded by ex-Vogue art director Caroline Breteau and former McQueen designer Sam Dougal. Could they be making her second royal wedding outfit of the year?

Royal commentators expect her to choose the York diamond tiara for her big day, just as her mother did.

It was custom-made for Sarah Ferguson by jewellers Garrard as a gift from the Queen and Prince Philip. A perfect ‘something borrowed’!

Although they are no longer married, Eugenie’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson have remained close since their divorce. The couple split in 1996 after 10 years of marriage, when Eugenie was 6 years old.

Prince Andrew and Sarah arrived together at Prince Harry’s wedding in May but did not sit together due to royal protocol. However, it’s believed that they will sit together at Eugenie’s wedding.

What Title will Princess Eugenie Have After She Marries?

Princess Eugenie is a princess from birth, as the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York. Since the birth of Prince Louis, she is ninth in line to the throne.

However, Eugenie has never been a senior royal, meaning all her charity work and patronage doesn’t come under royal work, and she didn’t need permission from the Queen to marry.

However, it’s unlikely that Jack would get a royal title like partners Meghan and Kate did after their marriages.

As Jack doesn’t have any title of his own, she has the option of keeping her royal title or getting rid of it once she married and taking her husband’s surname. It’s possible she could even use both together and be known as HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Brooksbank.
