Your wedding story captured as natural, timeless and beautiful documentary wedding photography

Hi!  I'm a wedding photographer based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire but more than happy to travel within the UK or beyond.  I'd love the opportunity to tell your love story by capturing moments of happiness and emotion through my photography.  I work in an unobtrusive and friendly way and do everything possible to produce a timeless story that you and future generations will cherish.  My aim is to make you smile, feel emotional and maybe even shed a tear when you see your photos for the first time, and again when you look at them in ten years time!

I offer couples a complimentary engagement shoot as a great way to get to know one another before your big day in a relaxed and fun session.   All my Collections include a beautiful slideshow of your photos, a web gallery of your photos for you to share with friends and family, coverage from bridal preparations through to first dance and beyond, and all your beautifully edited photos in colour and black and white on a customised USB.  I also offer a range of the most gorgeous Queensberry wedding albums for your consideration.

Please get in touch with some information about your wedding plans and I'll send you my latest brochure for you to browse through.  I look forward to hearing from you!

  • "Graham went out of his way to make it both unique and special to us"
Adrian & Fiona Gray on 11 April 2019

From our very first meeting Graham impressed us with his professionalism, friendliness and reassuring manner. Neither of us enjoys having our photographs taken but in the more relaxed setting of our engagement shoot he and Mary quickly put us at our ease; we were very pleased with the natural informality he achieved which we felt reflected our personas. Graham was very open to all our wishes and suggestions, never trying to impose his own views but offering insights and suggestions that we would not have considered. He was very discreet in the church, yet still managed to encapsulate the nature of our ceremony. The reception photographs also beautifully captured the reportage style that we were looking for and the few formal group shots still managed to reflect the fun of the occasion. Overall, and most importantly, we never felt that this was “just another wedding” to him. He went out of his way to make it both unique and special to us.

  • "The Perfect Photographer"
    Lauren on 18 March 2019

I got married on the 25th August 218 and chose Graham to be my photographer before my venue was even booked. He had photographed my cousins wedding 2 years prior where I was maid of honour and I was so impressed with his photo’s and general prescence on the day that I new there was no reason for me to look else where. Graham has such a warm and kind way when discussing your wedding plans, His passion for work is so clear and reassuring when your getting married as after the day passes photos and memories are all you have to look back at. The engagement shoot helps you get to know one another and a chance for you to point out anything you particularly like or dislike about the photos so he knows exactly what to go for on your big day. He flew all the way to Verona in Italy with myself and husband to complete our shoot and we had so much fun. My photos from both the engagement shoot and wedding are everything I could of ever hoped for. Graham captures natural moments between the wedding party and family members and the photos you are left with are so speacial. I had 10 bridesmaids and 12 groomsmen so I can imagine I made Graham’s job slightly more difficult then usual. I had a whole list of photographs I wanted with certain wedding guests and he did everything possible to ensure he managed to meet my request. I highly recommend Graham he will go above and beyond for you to make sure you are left with stunning and precious photos. He is flexible, reliable and reasonably priced. Good luck to all the future brides and grooms, I hope this reassures you, Graham is the right choice!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of your service?

I offer everything from a beautiful digital-only Collection priced from £1,450 through to Collections that include a stunning Queensberry wedding album. Full details of the Collections including pricing can be found on my website under 'Investment'

What services do you offer?

My primary focus is as a wedding and engagement photographer. I offer clients digital Collections through to high quality Queensberry wedding albums. All my clients receive a professional slideshow of their photos and are offered a complimentary engagement or pre-wedding shoot. I'm also open to do a post-wedding shoot or open to consider any specific requests.

What does the wedding package include?

Please take a look at the Investment page on my website for full details. I can of course provide you with a bespoke quotation depending on your specific requirements. Just get in touch and I'll do my best to help. The most important thing is that I am there to photograph your whole day from bridal prep through to first dance and beyond. I don't count hours. All my collections include a beautiful set of individually edited photos supplied in both colour and black and white, all supplied on a customised USB. All photos are also loaded on to a private web gallery so that you can share them with friends and family anywhere in the world. I also offer a complimentary engagement photoshoot.

How far in advance should I contact you?

I shoot weddings both in the UK and abroad so often synchronise dates depending on my location. The earlier I can schedule your date the more likely it is that we can cover your special day. This is particularly true for weekends.

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

That would be impossible for me as I spend 10+ hours on each wedding I photograph. Everything from bridal prep through to first dance and beyond.

Are you able to travel?

I am happy to travel throughout the UK and overseas to photograph weddings.

What style of photos do you take?

My natural style is often described as documentary or reportage style wedding photography. If you are looking for natural, timeless photography with an emphasis on capturing special unposed moments then this is the style you are after. I believe that it is these moments that best tell the story of your day and help you to relive the emotion, fun and love you experienced. I work in a friendly and unobtrusive way and am sometimes mistaken for one of the guests! We will also arrange to take the couple away from the wedding party for around 30 minutes to obtain some more intimate couple photos around or near to the venue. This is a very relaxed affair and I will only semi-direct you in to beautiful light or to slightly improve a pose if I see something untoward in the frame! I also take group photos but try to keep these to a minimum as they often break the flow of the day.

What kind of technology do you use?

I used to be a scientist and inventor so I'm a bit of a technology geek. If it makes sense to use it then I'll have it in my bag!

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?

I am always looking out for special moments between the bride and groom and their friends and family. My wife is my assistant at weddings and she is my second pair off eyes. I am always looking to create something a little creative if you are up for it whether in an unusual location or by using off-camera flash techniques.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use a pair of the latest Canon 5D MkIV cameras together with a range of professional L-series lenses for most of my photography. Although I love to photograph with natural light, I also specialise in off-camera flash techniques and use the latest Canon wireless flash equipment. I use specialist portable sound recording equipment if the couple would like to have the ceremony and speeches recorded. For editing your photos, I use a mixture of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and Premiere Pro for editing a beautiful slideshow set to music of your photos. All photos are backed-up on an external drive and on to a web gallery. My wedding albums are supplied by a New Zealand-based company called Queensberry who are recognised as being one of the best worldwide.

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

All the high resolution colour and black and white photos and slideshow are loaded on to a password-protected web gallery for you to share with friends and family anywhere in the world. They are free to download for sharing or printing.

What''s the delivery time for photographic report?

This is very dependent on the time of the year but we aim to have the editing complete within 6 weeks. I do all the editing myself with care and do not rush this stage as I want to ensure the client receives the best possible product. I offer all my clients a 'Photo-a-Day' so that you will start to receive a selection of your photos within a few days of your wedding for a period of 7 days. My clients love this! It's a little something extra to look forward to each day while you are away on honeymoon and you can start to share your memories on social media if you wish.

Do you send all the photos taken?

I pride myself on individually editing a selection of the best photos from your wedding in both colour and B&W. Depending on the wedding, I might take anywhere between 1,500-2,000 photos so my first job is to edit out unflattering photos, photos that are near duplicates, and photos that are technically off in some way. The collection of photos I supply will fully represent your special day in every way and will number around 500+, sometimes many more. I take around 100 of these photos to make your slideshow and if you wish to have an album then this is way more than any customer will ever need. My focus is always on quality over quantity.

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

I usually work with my wife who acts as my assistant on the day, and as my second pair of eyes! She's particularly good at remembering everyone's name too which helps with our friendly approach during weddings. For particularly demanding weddings I am able to dip in to a pool of second shooters if this might be required. I find that working as the sole photographer allows for a more unobtrusive approach though my wife occasionally adds some amazing photos herself that are added to the collection.

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Fortunately, fingers crossed, this has never happened. But, if I was ever unable to attend a wedding, I have access to a large pool of like-minded wedding photographers who would be able to stand in for me. I would still undertake to do all the editing and follow-on contact with the client.

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

I am there to photograph your whole wedding so do not count hours. We leave when we feel that there are no further useful photographic opportunities.

What are the forms of payment?

I usually prefer payment via a bank transfer. A £350 booking fee will secure your date with the remaining balance payable 1 month prior to the wedding date.

How do you work?

My clients tell me that I work in an unobtrusive and friendly way. I am always looking to capture special moments and add a creative twist. In the end, it's your day and I do everything possible to ensure that any requests are met. I am there to capture memories, not direct your day!
