Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of your service?
Prices vary, depending on when and where the wedding is. I include a full day's coverage without time limits or charging extra for extra hours. My latest pricing is available on my website.
What services do you offer?
I offer a full day's coverage, with no time limits - from the make-up/hair stylist arriving until your drunken uncle goes crazy on the dance floor. I'm there, catching the magic and recording it to enjoy forever.
What does the wedding package include?
A full day's coverage without time limits, a large collection of beautiful images, in colour and black & white, professionally adjusted for colour and style, all delivered within two weeks, plus a small collection of images delivered on the day so you can share them on social media rather than some blurry grainy over-processed iPhone snap!
I can also create gorgeous, high quality albums as well as a wide range of framed prints.
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as you know the date, or even before. I book up to two years in advance, but also do sometimes have short notice availability.
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Absolutely not. For one thing, I do a full day's coverage without time limits. In fact, I won't even do two weddings on consecutive days. I put so much energy into each one I like to take it easy the next day!
Are you able to travel?
I am to travel - I try to be as flexible as possible. I am based in London and Sheffield, so most easily cover the London area and most of Yorkshire, but will consider any destination.
What is the charge for travelling?
It all depends on the where and the when. I am more than happy to discuss, so please get in touch.
What style of photos do you take?
I tend to the candid and couples often comment that they weren't really aware of me for much of the day. I am still happy to take group shots and love taking couple portraits, if they're desired by the couple. I'm all about being flexible. Photographically I like taking emotive, moody black and whites, as well as punchy, vibrant colour photos.
What kind of technology do you use?
I use professional equipment throughout the process - from multiple camera bodies to professional editing software. Most importantly, I have duplicates and backups of everything. See below for more details on equipment.
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
My most notable technique is to be relaxed. I like to get to know you as a couple, which is why I always meet you in advance. If you want posed pictures I am more than happy to direct, including group shots if desired. I can do the "white umbrella against the night sky" shots too! But most of all I'm happiest capturing the tender, emotional, fun moments of your day - the tears, the laughs, the gentle touches and the big bold dancing moves.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use at least three professional grade cameras and lenses throughout. I have backups of everything, including a camera and lenses that stay locked in my car just in case the worst happens. I have lenses which work in very low light, but also have a full portable lighting setup to use if appropriate. All images are written to multiple memory cards and are backed up to the cloud as soon as the event is over and before editing begins.
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, your photos will be available on the web - both the complete collection and an album of highlights which you can choose to share with anyone you choose.
What''s the delivery time for photographic report?
I deliver a small number of images on the day of the wedding - so you can share professional photographs with your friends and family (particularly if they're not at the event and/or you enjoy sharing on social media) rather than a blurry or over-processed iPhone picture. The rest of your images are typically available within a week, but definitely within two weeks.
Do you send all the photos taken?
I send all the photos which are worth sending! This is hundreds of images, all professionally colour graded. However, because you may want to share a selection of only the best with your friends, I also provide a "best of" selection of around between 50 and 150 images, with light retouching if required.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
I work alone. I enjoy all aspects of the process and take care of everything personally. I do sometimes use an assistant or a second shooter if required.
In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?
I know many photographers and will be happy to help you find one in unforeseen circumstances. I've never missed a wedding yet.
Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?
My usual agreement is that I can use your photographs on my website and on social media. But I would never share anything you didn't like and if you want to amend the agreement to prevent showing of your photographs, that's certainly possible. Flexibility is my watchword.
Do you charge per hour or per event?
Definitely per event. I don't want you to feel stressed or pressured. And some of the best moments of a wedding might happen later than you expect!
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?
Absolutely. I usually work with no time limits.
How do you charge extra time?
I don't - a full day's coverage is included.
What are the forms of payment?
Cash, credit cards, cheque or bank transfer.
How do you work?
My style is relaxed and most of the time, very informal. I try to capture you at your natural best.
