About Fairfield Photographic

Having just celebrated my 14th anniversary as a professional photographer, I feel truly lucky to do what I do and I put my heart and soul into every wedding that I shoot. I've shot at most of the gorgeous venues Lancashire has to offer and feel my style works incredibly well with the venues in the area. Venues I've worked at include Shaw Hill, Gibbon Bridge, Higher Trapp, Dunkenhalgh, Inn at Whitewell, Shireburn Arms, Farington Lodge, Beeston Manor, Ferrari's, Higher Trapp, Stirk House, Eaves Hall and many others.

I would describe my photography as unobtrusive, modern and stylish with a classic twist. I use contemporary, top of the range storybook albums and custom design them all myself with a view to offering my services at competitive prices.

I would love to capture the fun and passion of your wedding day too.  I cover not only Lancashire but the entire North West region and beyond, all the way to Italy in fact!

Within a 75-mile radius I include all travel costs and I also offer a discount for Police, Military and NHS staff – just get in touch to find out more.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Alex and Bev made the day particularly special, working all through, from the the bride getting ready, to the first dance. The album they produced was wonderfully presented, and captured the spirit of the day perfectly. We are also pleased to say that we received our album sooner than friends who had earlier weddings (and other photographers!). Cannot believe the number of complements we have had on our album.

  • "Captured the spirit!"

With so many to choose from, finding the all important photographer has got to be pretty much the most difficult choice in wedding preparation. We saw loads at wedding fairs, phoned even more and selected a few to meet with personally. There was no doubt when we met Alex and Bev that they were the ones for us. They are such a fun, professional couple we had complete confidence that our wedding day would be captured to our expectation. When teh day came, poor Alex was suffering with flu but the superb results he produced even though he was undoubtedly feeling rubbish were testament to his great skill. In fact when we saw the wedding album, expectation was far exceeded. We were over the moon with the way Alex and Bev presented our winter wedding. Thank you so much, once again you two! x

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of your service?

My prices start at £900 and go up to £1900 for a package which includes everything you and your family might ever want! It's all completely customisable too :)

What services do you offer?

Gorgeous wedding photography and stunning wedding books handmade in Italy and custom designed, by me, for each individual wedding.

What does the wedding package include?

It depends on the package! But every package includes at least 6 hours photography, all photographs carefully and tastefully edited and presented on a boxed USB drive and a passworded online gallery for you to share with friends and family.

How far in advance should I contact you?

About half my clients book me within 12 months of their wedding date, some book 3 years before. Booking early guarantees you pay that year's prices and get the best deal.

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Are you able to travel?

I travel anywhere and everywhere, from most counties in England to Europe. I offer great deals for destination wedding as I love travel.

What is the charge for travelling?

Within 75 miles of my studio there is no charge. Beyond that it is charged at cost.

What style of photos do you take?

I'd describe myself as classic with a modern twist. My goal is to create photos that will look great in 5, 10, 15, 30 years - not just now. I try and avoid too many fads and trends.

What kind of technology do you use?

I use all the latest gear - like many photographers I'm something of a tech nerd.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use professional Canon digital slrs and Canon professional lenses, flashes and a ton of other kit. I chose the cameras I use as they record all photos to two memory cards at once - so your photos are safer.

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

I have a website hosted by Zenfolio who specialise in hosting pro photographers' websites. It has passworded galleries and is shopping cart enabled. From the galleries you can but pretty much any type of print, wall art or gift.

Do you send all the photos taken?

For a full day wedding, I take about 1000-1500 photos. I carefully sort through and weed out duplicates or any that are unflattering to you and then edit very painstakingly what's left - and that's normally anywhere from 350-600 photos. My clients receive all of these.

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

I generally work alone! I believe it helps keep my quality consistently high.

In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?

Yes. I'm a member of some of the largest networks of pro photographers in the world and we cover each other when required.

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

I retain the copyright of the photos I take so I can occasionally use one or two on my website or on a flyer. But if you'd prefer your photos are never used that's no problem.

Do you charge per hour or per event?

Per event, based on package chosen.

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?

Usually yes, but it does depend on your wedding location and if I have a wedding some distance away on the following day.

How do you charge extra time?

Per hour.

What are the forms of payment?

Clients normally pay via online banking, but I also accept cheques, cash and can accept credit and debit cards in person. Paypal is also accepted but I do unfortunately have to add a surcharge due to paypal's high fees.

How do you work?

Hard! Seriously ;) My approach is to be as unobtrusive as possible and it's always a great compliment from brides when they tell me later they didn't even notice me taking photos (as I'm 6'2" and no longer as slim as I'd like!!).

How long have you been a professional photographer and how many weddings have you photographed?

I've been a professional now for over 10 years, the last 8 of which I've been full time. I've photographed well over 200 weddings!
