Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of your service?

Packages start at £1200 but flexible pricing options are available for smaller weddings.

What services do you offer?

I offer stills photography specialising in informal and reportage, covering morning preparations till late night dancing and everything in between. I include a pre-wedding photoshoot in my packages and I can also offer a pop-up photo studio in the evening. Couples receive high-resolution digital copies of their chosen photographs in all my packages.

What does the wedding package include?

I can tailor a package to suit your requirements, the most popular packages cover ceremony until first dance, or all day to include morning preparation to late night dancing. I also offer a 'pop-up' studio with fun props in the evening

How far in advance should I contact you?

The sooner the better as I often take bookings two years in advance, but its always worth checking for later availability.

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Nope - I am yours for the day.

Are you able to travel?

Sure, travel is not a problem.

What is the charge for travelling?

I don't usually charge for travel unless its a very early start or late finish and we agree an overnight stay would be beneficial.

What style of photos do you take?

I take a range of photographs that employ different styles. This can vary from posed portraits, to semi-formal to observational/reportage.

What kind of technology do you use?

I use two Canon DSLR camera bodies and multiple lenses to give a visual variety throughout the day. Images are recorded in duplicate to two memory cards and I backup photos to an encrypted Cloud storage service to ensure they're kept safe. All images are then post-processed utilising a range of digital techniques to ensure they look their best.

Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?

I am pretty relaxed and I try not to get in the way - my aim is to capture your day, not run it. If I’d like someone to do something I will ask them, not tell them. I talk to people to get the best out of them. I am polite.

Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?

Selected images are available to view and share in your own gallery on my website. Prints can be ordered directly from the site and are fulfilled by me in collaboration with a professional print lab - no more organising a 7x5 yourselves for Auntie Nora.

What''s the delivery time for photographic report?

Ideally we will get together after the wedding so you can come and see your photos on a high-resolution screen in all their glory. As part of this process you get to see the photos I've selected and choose which ones you want to go into your on-line gallery and which ones go into an album (if you want one). We agree a time and date to suit, usually within 1 month of the wedding.

Do you send all the photos taken?

No I don't. I take thousands on the day and a large part of the time I spend is involved in curating a selection of the best photos of the day. All of these are post-processed to ensure they look their best.

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

It depends, I have other second-shooter photographers I can call on if required but all the work you seen in my portfolio has been shot by me.

Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?

UK law states that as the photographer I retain copyright of all images I take. However, I grant you the license to print and share your photographs. The copyright is retained by me meaning you can’t use them for non-personal use (such as reselling or giving them to a venue or supplier to advertise their services). Some couples prefer I don't publish their photos so I respect that.

Do you charge per hour or per event?

We agree a charge up-front for the event. There are no nasty surprises so if things are running behind on the day, that doesn't affect my price.

How many photographs do we receive?

The honest answer is I don’t know. Each wedding is different and it depends on how long I am around on the day. I certainly don’t limit or hold back the number of images I give you, and likewise, I will not give you images I am not happy with in order to bump up the numbers. 400 is very rough guide.

Do we need to feed you?

I don’t sit down with the guests or demand food from the wedding menu, but something to eat would be lovely. Although I am gluten-free so I understand it’s difficult – just let me know in advance if it’s not possible.
