About Mitch Matthews DJ

Hello I’m Mitch Matthews,

I love DJing and helping fun, creative people like you - and a little bit like me, my friends and my family - to throw brilliant unique parties for the people that they love.

You don’t need to trust me - trust the Hitched brides, the UK’s leading event organisers, brilliant wedding planners, top rate photographers and stunning venues across the UK and Europe that highly recommend the parties that I get to help my couples to create and DJ at.

To make sure that your wedding reception is uniquely brilliant for you and everyone that you love;

  •  We can work together before the wedding to find out the ideal music for your Once-in-a-Lifetime party
  •  I’ll use the wedding DJ skills that I’ve learnt from DJing for brilliant wedding planners, Plus the party building skills that have got me flown all over the world just to hadline DJ massive parties.
  • I’ll give youand your wedding 3 times more of my time (Typically 20 hours) than other wedding DJ’s (Typically 7 hours). I’ll use at least half of this time planning your reception party. This extra time enables me to turn your ideas into your very own personal party
  • We get to have a reception planning meeting – the best way of putting your mind at ease is to run through your wedding reception from your first to your last dance
  • I’ll use £10,0000+ of great up-to-date equipment and original legal music. Nothing better than a highly recommended DJ, playing your music at your party through a great system

On a personal note, I promise that I will be friendly, helpful and supportive right from our first chat to your last dance.

Sure, not every bride has the £100,000+ wedding budget that many of my couples have. However, everyone can afford the same peace of mind which comes with booking me to DJ.

Availability 2018 sold out - some dates from 2019 onwards.

As you may have noticed, I haven’t asked most of my 2018 hitched brides for their reviews yet.

  • "Forget the mediocre DJ included in your wedding package...."
    HAYLEY on 6 October 2009

Aside from saying our vows, I have to say that Mitch's DJing was the highlight of our day. We had guests travelling from as far away as Canada and we really wanted to show them a good time! We were really nervous about the DJ which was included in our venue wedding package - having been at several drab wedding receptions where the DJ's repertoire had consisted of 'it's raining men' and 'oops up side your head'with a meager set of lights and dodgy dicky bow. We wanted someone with an edge who would really get the party going - and Mitch did that 110%!! He read our guests and played music which got everyone on the dancefloor - his energy and enthusiasm for music are incredible and he did us proud. Since our wedding, 3 of my friends have got engaged and asked for Mitches details and I just wish we had another celebration so we could us him again. To any bride/groom out there who is worrying about this important wedding ingredient - I would strongly recommend Mitch Matthews - he won't let you down and will go out of his way to ensure your experience is personal and stress free. He is well worth the price and earns every penny of it! :0)

  • "Faultless, fun and stress-free"
    Mike on 30 September 2009

I can't recommend Mitch highly enough. Friendly, helpful and accommodating, he went out of his way to help us plan the music for our evening bash, and saved us so much stress it's unbelievable. Everyone had a brilliant time thanks to him - he played a perfect mix of stuff that got everyone on the dancefloor, and he reacts superbly to what his audience wants. He is really easy to get in touch with and is lovely and reassuring with you as the stress in the build-up to the big day kicks in! And he even gets you up DJing yourself if you so wish! We have had many, many compliments about the music Mitch played, with some guests saying it was the best wedding do they've ever been to. Mitch is the man for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Your testimonials are great, why don't you win awards

I don't think it's fair to enter awards. At least until their "expert" judge comes to see the finalists play at a wedding.

Do you add V.A.T to your quoted price?

No. As I spend my time working with people, not running a DJ agency, I don't need to charge V.A.T.

Do you recommend "hand picked" DJ's?

As I don't think it's fair to charge couples £800 plus vat for a £450 "hand picked" DJs. I recommend fellow DJ's who I know are both highly skilled and take the time to help brides to throw a great party. You get to book these people directly and pay them exactly what they charge.

Why do you think it's important to book a DJ who has lots of different DJ skills.

Because great wedding parties come from recreating yours, your friends and families party history. Not every wedding you've ever been to.

Is DJing at a wedding hard?

Filling the dance floor for the last hour is easy, which is why there are so many really average DJ's at weddings. However, filling the dance floor for the entire party is the toughest type of DJing there is. Which is why I'm absolutely addicted to DJing at weddings and why I get so many brilliant reviews.

Whats best for a brilliant party a Band or a DJ?

Simple; Typically 1st - Bespoke DJ for 3 hours backed up with 2 x 45 minute sets from a great band 2nd - Bespoke DJ for the entire party. 3rd - Band or a Band iPod/ Sound engineer DJ and his lap top combination. I keep the dance floor full between sets, then get everyone really rocking for the last hour. Important thought - If you're spending £1500 on a band to play for 1.5 hours then it makes sense to spend half of that on a decent DJ to keep the party going for the other 3 hours.
