Hitched Tips for awesome ways to entertain your wedding guests #48; Hire a wedding DJ;"Perhaps a bit of an obvious one, but you’ve got to get people on the dance floor… and a wedding DJ is the best way to do that. We love Mitch Matthews who will have your wedding guests dancing all night long.".
The above words by Hitched make me feel really proud to be the most highly recommended individual DJ here. I love working for myself. Having the time to help lovely couples to have the most amazing time with all the people that they love is priceless to me.
As you can tell from my many testimonials and hitched.co.uk's words I do have the skills to make the last half of your wedding day unforgettably brilliant. I do this by simply filing your dancefloor with the music and people that you love. I do that by having the pre-wedding day time to work in a much more skilled, experienced and structured way with you.
I'm already trusted to make celebrations awesome by celebrities, local, national and international wedding planners, Olympians, world-class venues, chart topping song writers and so many other flavours of lovely successful and creative people. I hope that you can go on to trust me with your once-in-a-lifetime celebration too.
Sadly, as you can guess, over half of my 2020 availability has already sold out. However, your wedding date may not have been taken yet. Just let me know if you're keen to chat, I’ll check your wedding date, arrange a time to chat and then your wedding date is on hold until we do.
Don't worry If your wedding date has gone, I can recommend one of the very few other highly skilled DJs that I trust. I’ll even check that they’re available first. Then but only if you like them enough to book them, they will personally work directly with you and you can pay them exactly what they charge.
This is far better than paying a stylishly branded wedding DJ reseller £800+ VAT for a DJ that they pay £450 for. That’s over £500 of your wedding budget given to the tax man and the reseller.
Of course, I love lots of styles of great music but my real love is bringing people of all ages together to celebrate their lives. As well as being a local, national and International wedding DJ, I've been a multi style of music DJ at 1000+ capacity UK clubs, leading ski and surf resort clubs, Minor (10,000) and major (150,000) people festivals, celebrity and private events. Plus lots of other more specialised DJ things too.
I'm based in Brighton, London and Barcelona and so far I've DJ'd at over 2000 events everywhere from Jumeriah beach in Dubai - the setting for the world’s most expensive celebration, to a wedding in a tiny tin scout hut on a remote Scottish Island, Lots of French Chateau, Italian Villas, the UKs most stately of homes, palaces, barns, pubs and back gardens.
If you need a stylish DJ with a playful edge to bring your celebration together then I'd like you to trust me. I'm friendly, approachable and able to make all types of people feel relaxed, included and welcome. Not to mention dance their socks off to all types of music at all types of places.
P.S. I don't enter awards but the experts and venues who recomend me win lots of them and judge them too.
What a guy! Mitch was just an absolutely pleasure to work with! He had everyone absolutely going for it on the dancefloor and we would really recommend him as an MC too - he was so on the timings (yet flexible when we needed to be), and it almost felt as if he was an on-the-day co-ordinator at times! He was there to give us advice, and when we had some very difficult issues with the band which meant they didn't perform, he totally saved the day! (and our guests wanted to party with him rather anyway!)
Mitch really brings the party atmosphere and is just brilliant! You can 100% trust him make your reception an amazing one!!!
Mitch did an absolutely amazing job with the music at our wedding. We had guests ranging in age between 1 and 95 and he had all ages dancing! Mitch is so friendly and enthusiastic and it was fantastic to have him at our wedding.
Sitting below the V.A.T threshold means that my prices can be about 20% less than a branded quality DJ supplier charges [they pay their DJ's £100's less than you pay them for recommending someone.]
Bespoke Wedding celebrations including DJing,
Bespoke Wedding Breakfast music, mic's and your style of informal fun announcements,
Bespoke Ceremony music,
Bespoke Cocktail Hour music,
Great sound, great lights, DJs box, me and what's needed, required and asked for.
Although I have spaces, my bookings go unto 2 years in advance.
I'm skilled to club level at playing lots of different styles of music to lots f different styles and ages of people from Soul to House, Motown and funk to Indi and Rock to UK garage, House to Rock n Roll and I've got years of experience in playing a brilliant mix of all or some of it.
Eclectic, Electric, happy to help, highly skilled and totally flexible
Of course it is. Let me know what you want and I won't just play it, anyone can do that, I'll build your celebration around it.
29 years of playing eclectic music to my friends everywhere from weddings to festivals.
Yes I've DJ'd everywhere from Dubai beaches to tiny Scottish islands.
When I'm not available I recommend the best expert DJs that I know. You get to chat to them directly and pay them exactly the same as they charge. It'd be so easy to brand my company as "The best wedding DJ's available"and sell £450 DJs for £800 plus vat. However, I think taking £300-£500+ of a couples wedding budget for such a service wouldn't be either fair or something that I'd be happy doing.
typically up to 5 hours - but give me a call.
The standard 1 hour set up time.
typically I don't
I don't enter awards. Putting my name to an award judged by someone who hasn't seen me play, isn't in the best interest of me, the wedding suppliers who have seen me play and recommend me. not to mention the couples who put their trust is me.
I sit below the £85,000 V.A.T threshold. Spending my time working directly with people, not earning substantial commission running a DJ agency, means that I can earn an amount I'm content with for doing exactly what I love without charging my couples V.A.T.
No. I'll tell you If I can't play your event and do my best to recommend a fellow DJ who I know is both highly skilled and also takes the time to help brides to throw a great party.
You get to book these people directly and you will pay them exactly what they charge.
Because great wedding parties come from recreating yours, your friends and families diverse 'good time' history. Not every wedding you've ever been to.
Filling the dance floor for the last hour is easy, which is why there are so many really average DJ's at weddings. However, filling the dance floor for the entire party is the toughest type of DJing there is. Making people rock for 4+ hours is why I'm absolutely addicted to DJing at weddings and why I get so many brilliant reviews.
1st - Bespoke DJ for 3 hours backed up with 2 x 45 minute sets from a great band
2nd - Bespoke DJ for the entire party.
3rd - Band or a Band iPod/ Sound engineer DJ and his lap top combination.
Important thought - If you're spending £1500 on a band to play for 1.5 hours then it makes sense to spend half of that on a decent DJ to keep the party going for the other 3 hours.
