Frequently Asked Questions

What is your starting price?

My evening prices typically range from £450 - £750 depending on timings, location and whether your wedding day takes place in peak season or off-peak.

What services do you offer?

I offer a popular all day service where I can take care of everything from the ceremony music onwards, including Master of Ceremonies service to really bring some fun and engagement to your whole day. Alternatively I can simply help you plan an unforgettable evening's entertainment. There's also a host of additional services to make your day just that little bit more fabulous; - Mood Lighting - 'Til Death Do Us Party' colour changing, light up sign (see photos) - 'Dancing on Clouds' First Dance - Confetti Cannons - Sparkler Send Off - Garden Games - Starlit Dancefloors It all starts with a meeting where every one of couples receive an invaluable planning tool - my wedding entertainment planner! It's packed with inspiration ideas, music lists and more not just for your evening but your whole day. Over a cuppa we can discuss your wedding day and the options and ideas that are a good fit for your wedding.

What is included in the wedding package?

My evening entertainment service includes professional light and sound to set just the right atmosphere at your wedding reception. You'll also have access to your very own on-line music planning tool to enable both you and your guests to choose the soundtrack to your wedding reception. Tell me about the songs you love and the ones you hate! You'll also receive a copy of my Wedding Entertainment Planner packed with fun, unique and memorable ideas to set your evening reception apart.

How far in advance should I contact you?

Couples typically book me anything from 6 months to two years ahead of their big day. Remember, whether it's your photographer, DJ, magician or whatever, the sooner you get in touch with them the more choices you'll have. The best suppliers get booked up a long way in advance.

What style of music do you offer?

That really depends on you and your guests. I'd encourage you to give me your 'must plays' 'play if possibles' and 'do not play!' lists. I'd also encourage your friends and family to make requests. I can then build your evening around what everyone wants to dance to and add some ideas of my own to compliment your selections.

Repertoire:

I have a vast collection of music you can choose from. What would you like to hear?

Is it possible to request something that is not in the repertoire?

I'll endeavour to go out of my way to ensure I play the music you want. For instance if you or your guests are from overseas and you want to inject some Croatian, Italian, Argentinian (insert your country here!) then I'd welcome this. Also, I frequently work with couple to put together custom song mixes and mash-ups for their evening.

Experience:

My couples don't book me for my experience, they book me for theirs! A regional finalist at The Wedding Industry Awards in both 2017 and 2018, I've DJed for over 20 years and it's been my full-time occupation since 2009. A I've been lucky enough to DJ at over 1000 weddings since I started and I never stop learning. One of the best parts of my job is sharing the wedding ideas I've picked up along the way with my couples. I genuinely want your day to be the best it can be. Through my many years experience I can help you achieve this.

Do you have your own equipment?

Absolutely!

Are you able to travel?

Yes, absolutely.

Is there a charge for travelling?

I'm based in Kent and whilst most of my weddings are based here, work can take me anywhere across the South-East. There may be an additional charge for work further afield.

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

I take on just one wedding per day and in some cases just one wedding per weekend. This ensures that I'm fresh and focused on your big day.

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

I DJ alone but I have a team of colleagues I can call on if needed.

What is the length of time of the act?

This all depends on your requirements.

How much time do you need to prepare for an act?

My set-up time is typically 30mins to an hour.

Do you charge per hour or per event?

My fees are based on a charge for the evening rather than an hourly rate. So if your start time is a little earlier than normal or your finish time a little later then there's normally no charge for this.

If needed, would you be able to work extra hours

Yes, I'm happy to play extra time if you and your guests are still in the mood to party!

How do you charge for extra time?

Extra time is covered in my booking agreement.

What are the forms of payment?

Payment is normally by on-line/BACs transfer or cheque.

What makes you different from the other DJs on hitched?

I meet up with all potential couples to understand their wedding vision and suggest ideas that will help them achieve this. I pick up ideas up all the time at weddings and one of the best parts of my job is sharing this with my other couples. Memorable ideas that will bring fun and engagement to your day and take it to the next level. Ask me about The DJ Battle, Booze Toss, Pearls of Wisdom, The Tomfoolery Box and lots more. Put simply I don't just turn up and stand in the corner playing music!
