Born in Dublin, Ireland, Ingrid was asked to be one of the first female choristers in the originally all-male choir of Christchurch Cathedral in Dublin. There, she was taught and lead by Director of Music and revered organist, Mark Duley. She studied music in St Patricks Cathedral choir school and private singing under the renowned Dr. Veronica Dunne in The Leinster School of Music. She has worked extensively in theatre having been the sole vocalist in Michael Flatley's American and Canadian tour of Lord of the Dance and the voice of Agnus in the Dublin Castle production of Agnus of God to name a few. She has also performed as a solo singer in The National Concert Hall with the RTE Concert Orchestra, as well as working for many years and TV and stage. She regularly worked as a backing vocalist on television for artists such as Lionel Ritchie, Chris De Burgh and for the Eurovision.
Ingrid has lived in the UK for 12 years and now lives in Sidcup with her husband and three children. The high demand for her to sing locally for weddings and funerals has been something she is very grateful for and enjoys. St Augustine said “To sing is to pray twice”.
