How much do your services cost?
For displays local to the aeroplane’s base at Duxford Airfield (i.e. within 20 miles), the cost is £1950 plus VAT for the Spitfire to come to your weddingplus the Civil Aviation Authority Permission chargewhich is currently £97. The Spitfire will fly anywhere in the country suitable for your personal display, with a bespoke package and costings being calculated for you. Of course, the further away you are, the more of a sizeable budget you’ll need.

What is included in your wedding package?
All the necessary legal requirements to enable the Spitfire's display shall be adhered to by Old Flying Machine Company who are fully insured for public displays. A comprehensive Risk Assessment shall be carried out for each site location.
How far in advance should I contact you?
The sooner the better! It usually takes us 2 weeks to compete the necessary paperwork required to submit the application to the Civil Aviation Authority which must be done at least 42 days in advance of your event.
Are you able to travel?
The Spitfire will fly anywhere in the country suitable for your personal display, with a bespoke package and costings being calculated for you. he flights are all subject to air traffic restrictions and they cannot be performed in built up areas. The easiest thing to do is to contact us with the post code of the venue you’d like to book a Spitfire fly past at and we can check for you. In essence, wedding venues such as a country house or hotel, a golf club, a pub on the edge of a village and so on, are most likely to be acceptable venues for a personal display.
Is there a charge for travelling?
Once we have your location, the price we quote included the cost of the transit, the display, insurance, fuel, and the CAA permission.
How long is your act?
Usually the Spitfire display lasts around 7 or 8 minutes. If you book a Spitfire duo then the formation display will last around 12 minutes.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
Old Flying Machine Company has been providing air displays since 1981 and the task of displaying these wonderful aircraft is shared by only 6 pilots, all with exceptional experience in aerobatic and display flying.
Do you charge per hour or per event?
Our bespoke packages are calculated for each individual booking.
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?
What are the forms of payment?
We ask for a 20% payment to secure a booking, payable on receipt of our invoice with the balance due 7 days in advance. Payable by BACS transfer.
