Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a wedding celebrant?
A celebrant is someone who writes and delivers ceremonies for wedding, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, funerals and many other events. Legally, you can marry in a church or in a registry office wedding. A registrar will marry you are a venue providing it has a marriage licence. A wedding celebrant can conduct a ceremony anywhere, from a woodland setting to the beach to the local park. Many couples choose to legally marry in a short ceremony in the signing room of their local registry office but opt for a celebrant-led at a destination or venue of their choice.
How much is a wedding celebrant?
Fees depend on what you want the celebrant to deliver.
At Jackson's Celebrants, we:
* charge a flat fee for writing your ceremony - this includes time spent meeting with you (in-person and via Skype, for example), as well as rehearsing the ceremony before the big day and delivery on the day itself too
*travel is usually extra unless the ceremony is being held close to our hub
*special elements are charged per element, with the price varying depending on the equipment and resources needed. These not only add interest but can also be used to include guests in your ceremony. *
What are special elements in a celebrant-led wedding?
Special elements are visual gestures that highlight your love and commitment. There are many different special elements such as handfasting, ring warming or a unity sand ceremony. You can have as many elements in a ceremony that you like but the more you have, the longer the ceremony!
2020 has not worked out the way we planned. For many couples, this has meant disappointment in having to postpone their special day.
We want to end the year on a bang which is why for weddings booked and delivered during October and November 2020 we are offering the same brilliant service for a reduced fee of £300 (that's just under 30% off!).
Special elements are extra and there may be travel costs too, depending on where your wedding is being held. But it's still a great deal!
