"Unfortunately, such a disappointment"
Unfortunately from the start the experience was a disappointment; we were left waiting for twenty minutes in the shop while another bride tried to hide her discomfort at having to show her family each dress in front of us, which in turn made us also feel awkward. She'd probably chosen a Monday on purpose as they apparently only have one bride in at a time on a weekday.
When my appointment started, it wasn't the fun experience I had had in other shops as the member of staff was rude and derogatory about other brides of a certain profession. Had she asked me what my job was first, she would have found out I too do the same job as the brides she was making comments about. She also felt it was appropriate to give opinions on brides who choose to have hen weekends in a certain European beach resort.
In terms of the service, when asked about the individual prices, we we’re told she didn’t know or that “it didn’t matter” as I didn’t look like I liked the dress; though my facial expressions were more reflective of her abrupt manner. Perhaps she’d decided I wouldn’t be able to afford the dresses, but this wasn’t her judgement to make; I had googled the price range and knew they all fit comfortably within my budget. This was about as helpful as she got.
I couldn't wait to get out of there and in hindsight can't believe I stayed as long as I did; the young assistant helping her seemed to be trying to be more positive, despite explaining that she is actually a florist just helping out. The whole experience even marred the beautiful Maggie Sottero dresses. Needless to say, I won’t be getting a dress from this bridal shop.
