Hi Tash! I just wanted to say that the make up and hair were both absolutely amazing on the day. Think everything stayed in place right up until 1am so everything was absolutely perfect :) Sophie x

After being let down a month before our wedding date I found Something Blue Hair and Make Up. Natasha was extremly quick to reply and organised a Skype session within the week. Living in Dubai, I was a little worried about finding a hair and make up artist in the UK at such short notice but all those worries were gone after speaking with Natasha. She put me in touch with Kerri and Lucinda and my trial (a week before the wedding!) went perfectly. Kerri and Lucinda listened to what sort of style I wanted, whilst giving me some ideas too and I was so pleased with how it went. On the wedding day both girls were so professional but made me and my bridesmaids feel so comfortable too. All of us loved our hair and make up and we had so many compliments on the day. One of my friends loved our hair so much, she booked Kerri for her wedding a month later! I honestly cannot thank Natasha, Kerri and Lucinda enough. They made our wedding even more perfect than I could have imagined and I would recommend them to any bride. X

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I have my Trial?

We advise our brides to have their trials anywhere from 7 to 2 months prior to the wedding. It is important that you have selected your dress, this is an important factor in deciding which hair and makeup style would be suitable for you wedding day.

Where is the trial held?

We have a studio in Reading which clients may come to, however if this isn't possible we can also come to you.

What happens at a trial?

The artist and the client will discuss all aspects of the wedding, from dress to themes and flowers. Clients usually have a few images with ideas on that they like to show the artist. We do encourage this as it's a really good starting reference. Then the Artist will work on the look and tweaks are made throughout. If another style is needed to be tried then this is fine. We intend to get it completely right for our clients, and for them to go away from our trials happy and glowing! This is also a good time to try headpieces and/or veils, so bring them along with you.

How do I book?

A 25% deposit is required and our booking form will need to be completed by the bride.

Should I wash my hair?

Yes, you can wash your hair the day of trial or wedding day, the only thing we ask is that it is 100% dry. This saves a lot of time on a wedding day morning.

Do you do all hair types?

Yes, we have artist who are able to do all types of hair, including afro and curly hair.

How long does the Trial last?

Usually 2/3 hours.

What happens on the morning of the wedding?

A schedule will have been drawn up and sent out to the bride (or whoever is in charge!) the week before. Artists arrive with 15 mins to set up and get started. We then work through the schedule and get everyone done and looking gorgeous! We will stay until the bride leaves for the ceremony to ensure all last minute touch ups are done.

What areas do you cover?

London, Berkshire, Surrey, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire and destination weddings.

What makeup products do you use?

Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, MAC, NARS to name a few!
