Yvonne & Dan’s Real Wedding

Yvonne and Dan met through mutual friends on a night out. His funky dance moves left a lasting impression on Yvonne, and nine years after they first met they tied the knot at Quy Mill Hotel & Spa in front of their nearest and dearest. Their wedding had a pink colour scheme and included elements from Yvonne’s Chinese heritage.

Pink and Gold Wedding Cake

Yvonne and Dan cut into a traditional three tiered wedding cake. Each tier had a different flavour. The bottom tier was traditional vanilla, and Yvonne picked coconut for the middle one as it is her favourite. Dan chose the lemon flavoured sponge for the top tier.

The ivory cake, which was made by Cakes by Shelly, was decorated with gold swirls and pink sugar flowers. A personalised cake topper featuring their married name and wedding date finished the cake off perfectly.

In the evening Dan’s parents paid for the couple to have a live band as a wedding gift. They were amazing and had everyone dancing. They even learnt Yvonne and Dan’s first dance song, ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis.

The couple’s Wii was set up with games to entertain the children, and there was a balloon drop during the first dance. To finish off the night in style, the newlyweds organised a fireworks display from Gala Fireworks.

The couple are yet to head off on honeymoon but plan to go on a Caribbean cruise which coincides with the anniversary of their engagement!
