Yvonne & Dan’s Real Wedding

Yvonne and Dan met through mutual friends on a night out. His funky dance moves left a lasting impression on Yvonne, and nine years after they first met they tied the knot at Quy Mill Hotel & Spa in front of their nearest and dearest. Their wedding had a pink colour scheme and included elements from Yvonne’s Chinese heritage.

Fuchsia Pink Bridesmaid Dresses

Yvonne asked four of the most important girls in her life to be her bridesmaids. Her chief bridesmaid was her closest friend Becky – she is really good at organising things and recently got married herself, making her indispensable to the bride!

Yvonne’s old school friend Kelly was another bridesmaid, as was Yvonne’s younger sister Vivien. Dan’s 12 year old niece Ellie was the final member of the bride’s entourage.

Kelly was really helpful in the search for bridesmaid dresses and also attended the bride’s final fitting so she could learn how to lace up the back of her dress.

The bride originally imagined her bridesmaids in raspberry pink, knee length, strapless dresses in a chiffon fabric with sequin detailing. However she couldn’t find exactly what she was thinking of and had to compromise to suit all the girls.

High street store Simply Be proved to be a saviour! She found floor length dresses in fuchsia pink, with embellished straps. Yvonne felt they were still a bit plain, but after finding some pretty necklaces consisting of four rosettes in Matalan, she and Dan had a brainwave!

They gave each bridesmaid a necklace to wear, but also used an extra necklace as an embellishment on the waistline of the dress!
