Xu and Louis’s wedding at Rufford Abbey Mill took place in the Talbot Suite. They chose a sophisticated and elegant colour scheme of grey, silver and white with a dusting of sparkle. The wedding theme was influenced by Xu’s oriental heritage, so it was tea themed. Each of the tables at the wedding reception was named after a different kind of tea, and teapots were the centre pieces.
Chinese zodiacs were on the tables so guests could figure out their own, and the favours were five traditional bonbons and a scroll with a rabbit and a snake on it to represent the bride and groom’s Chinese birth signs.
Louis and Xu had seen a video of two men busking with steel drums in London, and invited them to come and play at their wedding. To the couple’s delight, they accepted, so there was an exotic sound of steel drums at the wedding reception!
