Wendy originally found hunting for a wedding dress quite difficult, having never dreamed about what she’d wear on her wedding day. She wanted something to suit her taste, and knew she didn’t want anything strapless, too plain or too sparkly!
In the end her daughter and her friend found the Trudy Lee dress Wendy would wear to marry Ian in, at Brides @ Hot Bobbins in East Anglia. The tea length dress was perfect as it was flattering and understated and fitted all of Wendy’s criteria. She accessorised the dress by wearing her late Nana’s engagement ring as her ‘something old’. She also fixed her bird brooch to her bouquet as a way of keeping her close on her special day.
She wore ivory wedge wedding shoes which she customised by adding the lace that was removed from the sleeves of her dress when it was being altered.
