Vivian and David got married during an intimate beach ceremony in front of just 28 guests just before sunset at the Tanjung Rhu Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia. They had always wanted a romantic, exotic destination wedding, and chose Malaysia because it was convenient for their guests to travel to from both Hong Kong and the UK. The resort is known for its long, white, sandy beaches and romantic views.
David and Vivian met through mutual friends when David was holidaying in Hong Kong, where Vivian is originally from. She was on her summer break from studying law in London and the pair instantly hit it off. They later arranged to meet up in London when Vivian resumed her studies.
After four years together, David proposed to Vivian in Hong Kong whilst they were visiting her parents for Christmas. He got up extra early to ask her father’s permission. Thankfully, it was granted and after lunch he took Vivian up Hong Kong’s famous Victoria Peak and got down on one knee. Vivian’s engagement ring came from the online jewellery specialist Samara James, who helped David estimate the size of his fiancée’s finger as he had no idea!
The excited and newly engaged couple enjoyed the next 14 months planning the destination wedding of their dreams.
