Vicky & Andy’s Real Wedding

Vicky, who is from Greece, and husband Andy met whilst they were both on holiday on the island of Corfu. Vicky was there visiting her grandparents and Andy was holidaying with friends. When they first met, she was 15 and he was 23. It took them three years of overseas phone calls before they met up again and got together. They were engaged a year later and immediately began planning a fairytale wedding in Greece.

Traditional Wedding Cake

The venue supplied Vicky and Andy’s wedding cake, which was a traditional, five tiered, white iced cake. It was decorated with a cake topper, fresh purple and white flowers and lilac ribbon, to match the colour scheme. The filling was a delicious vanilla and chocolate, and guests were served slices of the cake as dessert, alongside ice cream and seasonal fruits.

Andy wowed his new Greek family as he said half of his groom’s speech in Greek, which no one expected, before he and his bride shared their first dance to the Plain White T’s song ‘Hey There Delilah’, which they had often listened to together during those long, overseas phone conversations.

A DJ then played Greek music for Greek dancing and English songs for a disco. After the wedding, Vicky and Andy booked a short trip to Milos Island, Greece, to spend some time together exploring the beautiful beaches.
