The couple became husband and wife in a very laidback ceremony at Augill Castle. Guests could sit wherever they wanted, on sofas or chairs. Mark described the atmosphere as being like his own sitting room – everyone was very relaxed and chatting away.
The bride walked down the aisle with her Uncle Aland, to Annie’s Song by John Denver. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of assorted flowers from Petals in Kirkby Stephen. She opted for vendella roses, quicksand Roses, ranunculus, freesia, lisanthus, wax flower and eucalyptus, in soft cream and pink shades.
Vanessa’s good friend Leigh did a reading at the 2.30pm ceremony, and Mark and Vanessa exchanged rings bought from the Jeweller’s Guild, before being pronounced man and wife! The reception could begin straight away as it all took place in one venue.
