Twila and Leolin became husband and wife in a ceremony at the Paradise by Way of Kensal Green. The wanted a personal wedding ceremony that reflected their lives together, and wanted to include readings that meant something to them. They had a poem called ‘Dive Buddies’, as they love to dive together, an extract from Douglas Adams’s ‘So Long and Thanks for all the Fish’ and ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’, written by Dr. Seuss.
Twila was walked down the aisle by her father to the sounds of ‘Havilina’ by the Pixies, which is a really special song to the couple. She carried a brooch bouquet she assembled herself which included lots of meaningful things such as maple leaves to remind her of her native Canada, a shark’s tooth they’d found whilst diving in South Africa, and a brooch she was given the night they got engaged in Bruges by the restaurant they dined in!
